I don't think I have much say in the matter, but take the time you need. I'm not sure how much time is I won't even offer to cover the front desk while you're gone. I know how everyone gets nervous when I do.

It's 50/50 at this point. I could be helpful and direct people to the right book or get into an argument with one of our daily patrons. I'll handle all the difficult people as a gift?

I know that there isn't anything to be said or done that will fix any of this, because it isn't something that can be fixed. But if you need company or just someone to sit with, I've been told I have pretty sturdy shoulders to lean on, even if they're small.
