I have a project (Gretchen, you're going to help with this): recreating the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster.

According to The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, "The best drink in existence is the Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster, the effect of which is like having your brains smashed out with a slice of lemon wrapped round a large gold brick.”

Now accepting suggestions on what the people think goes in that. My first thought was "lemonade and moonshine," but I feel like it also needs to taste good if it's the best drink in existence.

Ah, sorry for the misgendering, I didn't realize. Anyway, that's some impressive multitasking for someone with only two hands.

Oh, no, it's okay, Ashton uses both. So do I, for that matter! But the concept of gender is so nebulous for me anyway.

Oh yeah, I feel you on that. The Morgan Yu I remember being was definitely male, but typhons don't really do gender at all. We reproduce asexually and have a collective consciousnes and don't communicate with language, so... ??? And now I'm kind of both at once.

What a great thing, to be able to define yourself. Or, not define! I'd like to be able to do that.

Is that outside your abilities, or just not something you've gotten to yet?

Oh, well, it's just, my job is to be the healer. And I like doing it because it's important and I want my friends to be safe.

If you like doing it, maybe you are self-determining. Is there something else you'd rather be?

I don't know! Does it make a difference if that was what I was designed to do?

That's one of the questions that comes up a lot with human philosophers who believe in a god or gods that created humanity. You could read some Thomas Aquinas about it? But I think it falls into the "great unknowables" category, myself. We can talk about it and stress about it, but there's no scientific test that's going to tell us whether the choices we make are a result of programming or design or fate or free will. Thinking about whether I have empathy because that's what Alex Yu created me for or because of the experiences I've had and the choices I've made just gives me a headache (or the psychic equivalent depending on what form I'm in).
