It has been brought to my attention that I failed to introduce myself properly to the network. This is what happens when your sole contact in town was raised by wolves.

Good morning. I'm Daniel Arlington, usually called Darlington to differentiate me from the four previous Daniel Arlingtons. I am recently assigned to the Special Collections department at the Great Library, which I've learned still includes making people wear gloves before handling fragile texts, but also includes preventing them from being bitten by particularly aggressive literature. Pleased to meet you all.

A question, while I'm here: do those of you who used magic in your worlds of origin find that your magic has altered at all since coming here?

[Filtered to Stern]
There is little more humbling than attempting to look up local history, finding yourself bereft of any context, and discovering that you need to start in the middle grades section of the library. I was able to move through it quickly, but my ego may never recover from the initial shot.

Richard Gansey the Third, I go exclusively by Gansey to differentiate from the other two Richard Gansey's. So we have that in common along with working together!

Nice to meet another number here. We may now take this moment to be grateful that we aren't among the ones nicknamed Trey and Quentin.

From where do you come to Vallo?

I would take Trey or Quentin if it meant I didn't have to fuss with my nickname being "Dick".

Henrietta, Virginia. Though my parents are out of DC. You?

Trey definitely wins out over Dick, if one could even call it a contest.

I know DC, but not Henrietta. I'm from New Haven, CT, and was a student at Yale before I landed here.

Most do, sadly. Modern day nickname bullies were largely unfamiliar to my grandfather.

I'm familiar. My significant others and I looked into Yale but ended up attending Sarah Lawrence in New York instead.

I had a few schools on my list, but it was always going to be Yale. I'm too fascinated by New Haven and its magical centers to go anywhere else. Are your significant others here as well?

Henrietta was that for me. A convergence of ley lines that drew me there and kept my attention for a long time. Blue is. Henry was, but regrettably was sent back some time ago.

Magic has a way of taking up all of one's attention. I'm already fascinated that we come from ostensibly similar worlds, but in yours magic converges somewhere in Virginia rather than in New Haven.

My sympathy regarding Henry; I can only imagine it's difficult to have someone here and then lose them.
