I know that's supposed to be a squid or octopus or something else very aquatic, but all I see is mind flayer.

Totally unrelated, but I bought Halloween decorations for the house. You're welcome in advance, housemates.

Update regarding laser tag:

Saturday evening at 6 at Laser Quest.
Teams are adults versus kids, because I am in charge.
Pizza and ice cream to follow, my treat.

I'm not terribly familiar myself, outside of knowing there's some sort of crossover there between my world and the game itself. I haven't looked too hard into it.

Yeah, he's a real piece of work. He tried to ascend godhood. Well, I say tried, but he actually did it, but not before he killed me and just did a bunch of other fucked up stuff. Figures that he'd not change across worlds.

Fuck. I'm sorry.

He killed several people I knew and love as well. He was originally banished to this alternative dimension connected to my world that we call the Upside Down (that's literally what it is though), and his plan was to use 4 deaths to create a gateway that would open up into our world.

I only lived after I met him because he wanted me to pass along a message. But that's not an experience I would ever forget.

... was he ever defeated in your world?

It's all right. Well, it isn't, but I'm here and that's good. My goddess brought me back for a time to help my friends defeat him, so there was at least that.

He was, yes. He still exists, but he's sealed away.
