Alas, we at Glorious Purveyors (home to all of your arcane, magical, mystical, otherworldly, and enchanted needs) are not immune to this cicada crisis. I'm in the middle of crafting a wind tunnel of sorts around the shop because I refuse for the outdoor tapestries to play domicile to bugs.

And, side perk, everyone looks amazing with wind in the hair.

A Muffler of Muffling is proving more difficult than I assumed, as it's much more a Scarf of Silence right now, muting all noise, instead of simply muting the wailing of the infernal insects. With any luck and much more coffee, I should have a prototype ready if there are any volunteers.

In the meanwhile, our security golem is wandering the surrounding area with a Shaft of Striking (created on a whim, if it functions the way I intend it is similar a lightning wand but I am weak in the knees for alliteration) so if anyone needs immediate assistance in the forest, he's surprisingly spry.

Not always. Prestidigitation can be used by bards, sorcerers, warlocks, and wizards. Bardic magic tend to rely on music or rhythm, as you know from Scanlan. It's early for pact magic--possible, of course, but early. Wizardry is more likely, because she could have easily been watching Essek and Caleb and learned that way. Sorcery is also possible, admittedly, I'm biased.

There are many warlocks who have a good relationship with their patron, but you might be able to find out simply by asking her. She may not know the terms but she would know if she made a new friend whom we all can't see. Prestidigitation doesn't always require a book--at least, from my understanding of wizardry, our wizards are obviously able to speak on that more and clarify.

My magic appeared when I was younger than Velora is now. She's not the type I am, just as there are different types of wizards and bards and clerics, there are sorcerers too, but she could be a sorcerer.

The most important thing is to watch, ask questions, and listen and to make sure she knows that she's supported and loved. Magic is wonderful--again, I'm biased.

	I suppose it isn't fair to paint all warlocks in the light cast by Percival's experiences with pacts. Still, yes. We'll have to broach it with her, I suppose. See if the three of us can't coax a bit more information out of her. She's always been a bit magical, just in her general being, so it probably was only a matter of time that it manifested literally. I think you find her a tutor, someone who can work with her to figure out exactly what is happening and how to best develop that with Velora's comfort first and foremost. She shouldn't be afraid of herself, or magic, but she should start to understand some of the responsibilities that come along with it.

And darlings, you know I'm more than happy to help, but I also understand that that may be, ah, muddying the waters. I'm saying all of this attempting not to push any sort of agenda. You will do what is best for your sister.
