Happy New Moon, assholes. This one's in Gemini during a Mercury retrograde, so fuck us, I guess (I took several astrology classes at my fancy magic school to break up the monotony of all the "don't eat your fellow students" classes).

...that's assuming the moon here is like the moon back home, which, fuck if I know.

The previous Alpha before her knew it was better to pick his replacement based on intelligence, skill, and political awareness, rather than just who was better at killing. Most other packs still go by the later. Some traditions are meant to burn. In other packs the daughters of the Alpha are treated like commodities.

Makes sense. I guess there was more expectation on my brother and I compared to some of the younger pack members, but it's not guaranteed that either of us will take moms position when she retires.
