Happy New Moon, assholes. This one's in Gemini during a Mercury retrograde, so fuck us, I guess (I took several astrology classes at my fancy magic school to break up the monotony of all the "don't eat your fellow students" classes).

...that's assuming the moon here is like the moon back home, which, fuck if I know.

I do not know what that means. We did not have astrology, only astronomy.

What is your moon back home like?

It's just like-- big, covered with craters, no atmosphere. Some people say it looks like there's a man in the moon, but it could be a woman, who knows, let's not pigeonhole people.

Ah. It is not different from ours. At least I do not think it has changed considerably since 1979. Sirius didn't mention anything.

How're you doing with the time shift? I guess a lot of magic stays the same, but even shit like the dating app is probably new to you.

Well, I have been to a place like this before. I am used to the telephones now and the televisions and have less trouble with the internet. I could not explain how things work, but I have found most Muggles do not know exactly either. They just use it. But adjusting to social norms and various other things was a bit jarring. I believe part of that to be the nature of how I was raised and the society I grew up in. I have had to alter my ways of thinking considerably, but I believe I have made improvements.

Yeah, the fae kids back home weren't that familiar with non-magical stuff. Some were assholes about it, some were cool. You got anything you miss from home?

Our family was very much of the idea that purity of magic was important. Anyone less pure was seen as beneath us. Obviously not a view I still hold. I suppose so. Mostly food. Kreacher. Our House-elf. Kreacher fought in battle for my honor. Or so I am told. Lead other House-elves into battle. Also my piano not being in an unfortunate state of disrepair.
