It's been a slow day. Sable's spent most of it being painfully productive to the point where Judah decided to move one of his own projects in and keep Sable company -- to make sure, he jokingly told her, he could still recognize the place when she was done. Sable got the hint and, after spending another hour using twist-ties to fasten flowers upside-down from the balcony railing to dry, she's finally out of things to do and lying on her stomach on the front counter reading The Three Musketeers. Judah finishes installing his project -- a new golem that would act as a call button to his shop if Sable got called away -- and leaves again.
And all is quiet... |

Despite herself, Domino was pretty excited. It was nice to have a new kind of job to do, and Justice had always struck her as being a pretty nice guy. She'd taken a rather long bath that morning, and attended to all those little feminine things that get shoved aside when you make a living punching people's teeth out for money.
Like shaving, for example. It had been a year and a day since she'd shaved her legs, and longer for anything else. Vance had said no nudity, but Domino liked to be prepared.
When she was ready, she kissed Cable and sauntered out to meet with Vance. Nate had been told he could come along if he promised to behave, so she gave that about five minutes. |

She couldn't believe it. Not only did Hermes let her make a magic chocolate refrigerator in their kitchen, but Che was coming over to help her test it out. All and all, today was a pretty good day. Well, for her anyway. Che seemed to be having kind of a sucky one, but that's what chocolate was for.
Grabbing a bottle of sweet dessert wine from the regular fridge, Psyche poured herself a glass as she waiting for Che to come over. |
