So for the most part I lurk here and this is the first time I've ever posted. Long story short. I'm moving back and over the past few years since moving out my weight has flucated a lot. Parents barely have space for ME let alone all the clothes that I don't really fit into so! I'm happy to discuss prices as well as post overseas but for the latter it might be a bit more expensive than local (AUS/NZ). All sizes for US are done via this website. Also all but one or two really are old work clothes to give you an idea of casual/smart etc. Pretty much cause work is the only place I really wear skirts and dresses which a lot of this are (not all though)

Edit: I apologise for the quality of the pics, did it with my ipad

clothing is under here. If no one takes it by the end of the week it's going to charity but I'm desperate for money )

I'm probably double-posting to those of you who have me on your f-list, but since we had that big discussion about bras a couple weeks ago, I thought I'd let all the bra-wearers know that bare necessities is having their semi-annual (up to) 60% off sale until the 9th! This also includes underthings, sleepwear, swimwear, hosiery etc. Not the whole site is on sale, but a lot of things are, so go forth and stock up if you want to! :)

SHOP ADDICTS OF THE WORLD, UNITE AND TAKE OVER. [17th Feb. 2014 • 23:28]

Hey there darlins! I'm pretty sure this is semi-on topic and I'd love some opinions, if you've got em.

When you treat yoself as much as I do (this is really not a good thing), you may or may not be inclined to occasionally purge. I'm perpetually in with the new, but where does one out the old, exactly? I've got a stack of stuff that's really too good for Buffalo Exchange -- mostly fancy leather goods -- but I also find that I just don't use any of it that often anymore.

Does anybody have any experience with e-fashion consignment sites? There seem to be quite a few of them and I've been scoping them out with a skeptical eye. I'm basically looking for alternatives to eBay, though that may very well be where I end up if these other places don't pan out. Thoughts?

For those of us who like nail polish, Zoya is doing another one of their promotions! You can get 50% off for 6-24 bottles of polish. (The idea is that then you send in an equal number of old (non-Zoya) polishes that you want to get rid of and they'll dispose of them safely, but you don't actually have to send in any polish to get the discount.)

Does anyone have suggestions for good Zoya polishes? I don't own ANY but I want to!

SPEAKING OF NAIL POLISH, has anybody ever gotten a shellac manicure? I'm thinking about getting one before I go on vacation for two weeks so I don't have to deal with chipped polish.

Fashionistas, help me please. I have an old Groupon I have to use today, and I've narrowed it down to three.

#1: Corso Como Black Patent Pumps - These seem like they might be the most comfortable, with a 3" heel, a comfort pad, and the top edge of the heel looks... softer, maybe? Also, it looks like it doesn't ride as close to the ankle bone and I'm a pansy who's prone to blisters.

#2: Ivanka Trump Black Patent Pumps - These are perhaps just one tiny hair prettier, though? And since I'm above average height anyhow, is the difference between 5'10.5" and 5'11" really going to matter? I'm obviously in need of a giant to begin with. I could get some of the squishy tiny inserts for heels, though IDK if they work?

#3: Ivanka Trump Nude Patent Pumps - Is nude more versatile than black, or no? I have a dress I really like that's a nice deep blue color, and one with pattern but a base of brown, and while I feel comfortable mixing neutrals for most things, I'm not sure black works here? I have brown suede & snakeskin peep toes and vintage silver peep toe Ferragamos that are 1/2 size too small that I could possibly wear with either of those dresses, I just would like something a little simpler/more classic.

I suppose I could just buy all three and plan to return two...

[ Edit ] I went with getting all three to see in person and planning to return two. I'm actually good about returning shit so I won't be keeping more than one pair.

For those of you into nail polish, Zoya (which is 5-free rather than just 3-three) is apparently doing a pretty sweet sale where you can get three of their nail polishes for free and only pay the $10 for shipping. There are a few exceptions like the new spring collections and the real gold flake topcoat, but otherwise, every other actual nail polish is game! It starts tomorrow and runs for a week.

Unfortunately, it's also Continental US only :| And if anyone wants some colour suggestions, I can offer a few, though I don't know their stuff quite as well as, say, OPI or China Glaze yet. But the nail polishes I've used from them so far have been fantastic.

as someone with a terrible recreational online shopping problem, i have searched for the perfect way to keep track of things i wanted but didn't want to drop $$$ on right that second for MONTHS. i tried pinterest, lyst, tumblr, rabidly abusing the "wishlist" function on every site...and finally, i have find the solution: HUKKSTER.

with hukkster, you drag a little button to your toolbar and every time you want to save an item, you click the button while you're on the product's page. you can choose size, color, AND at what level of sale you want to be alerted about the product: anything, 25%, or 50% off. according to their website, they don't work with every site yet, but thus far it's worked with everything i tried (@ topshop i had to put in the price myself and it wouldn't let me pick size/color, but it still lets you save it, so that's good enough for me).

hukkster is invite only, but i got my invite in less than 24 hours, so it's pretty fast! for the curious, here is what my list looks like. oh and it doesn't show up in the link, but you can also sort the things you save in lists, e.g. "tops," "dresses," etc.

So I think my posts of hauls are going to be few and far between here, just because I don't often treat myself, but, this one is kind of huge, by my terms. In the summer I got a catalog for Boden, a British company who's now in the states too. I wanted pretty much 80% of the clothes in there, but like I said, lately I rarely buy clothes without having a specific occasion to wear them, or a need to replace an older item. Winter rolled around with another catologue and the temptation was too strong to resist for one skirt, and if I was going to order one thing, I figured I'd do my usual online shopping technique of ordering five times the stuff of what I think I'll keep, so I can see how things fit and what looks best on me, and return the rest. Sorry clothes companies, but, I'm always very prompt with returns and extremely careful with the clothes and the packaging both, so... not that sorry. Anyhow, I culled my wishlist from $6k down to $2k (shut up, I love everything they have to offer) and now thinned what I'm keeping down to $358, plus two items that were on backorder, which I'll have to decide about sometime in December.

And now, my haul! )

So, for anyone who might order from them (in US sizes at least), I recommend ordering smaller than the measurement chart tells you. Based on my measurements (taken while I wore a fitted lightweight t-shirt and lightweight pajama pants), it said 8's on bottoms and 10s to fit the bosom, but it really should've been 6s for both. Other than that, it's really, really high quality merchandise. Kind of on the expensive side of things, but almost all of it is primarily natural fibers, cottons and wools and linens, all very soft and with nice, slightly different cuts, interesting shoulders, interesting sleeve lengths.

everlane. [13th Oct. 2012 • 16:46]

this is a post about everlane, a company i am currently obsessed with.

i think they're moderately well known at this point, but for those who haven't heard of them, they make luxury basics from quality fabrics...but because they're online only and have what seems to be a pretty effective supply chain, they sell them at normal people prices! if any of you have ever lusted for a simple, perfectly slouchy designer t-shirt but simultaneously died a little inside at the idea of paying $80 for one (note: i am not exaggerating), THIS IS THE PLACE FOR YOU. (but everlane def has form-fitting and equally lovely styles if that's not your thing!!)

their t-shirts currently come in three different cuts and a variety of colors, and run from $15-$25. they also sell tank tops, a cute leather belt in multiple colors, backpacks, tote bags, and a weekender bag (and they have a men's section selling similar items). shipping is free if you buy two or more items! also, in the coming weeks they're going to be unveiling their fall collection: men's and women's sweatshirts, scarves, silk blouses, cashmere sweaters, and men's oxford cloth button downs.

the site is ~member's only~, so you should all join and lust over their beautiful basics with me.

and if anyone wants to see what a normal person looks like in one of the everlane shirts, here are some (terrible) pics of me )

Having dropped a truly embarrassing amount of money on Etsy and Modcloth in the past 24 hours -- sup, retail therapy -- I'm curious to hear what other people use (yet terrified in case I get addicted to those, too, but). Which sites do you like to use for your online shopping?

And just so you have something nice to look at, HERE IS TONIGHT'S ETSY HAUL. )

I'm too shy to share my Modcloth stuff until it's arrived & I can see which clothes actually work on me. :[ And I'm stuck between this glass marble or this sea green nugget, so SOMEONE HELP ME PICK??? /seriously i have developed a retail problem
