so it's officially the start of 2018, i just got my flex spending card in the mail and i'm due to get my vision re-checked. i'm thinking of venturing into buying my frames online but i'm not sure of what places would allow me to try before i buy. any suggestions?? |

IDK if anyone still capes for American Apparel in this era -- I remember it peaking in the late-2000s when I was in university, and then all the creeper stuff -- but if you're into their clothes, the company's gone bankrupt, so they're closing down their stores and everything is on sale!
I feel like the sale has been going on for months in Canada now, so there's nothing left up here anywhere unless you want neon tights and disco~ pants in XXS, but it sounds like American stores only just started as of last Friday with the buy-out announcement? IDK. If you're not into clothes, I know they were selling wooden hangers for 2/$1 up here, along with mannequins, store fixtures, computer paper, etc. if you need any of that. |

So the first Uniqlo store in Canada is opening this Friday, and I wanted to know if anyone had any suggestions on what they like (or, alternatively don't like) there! The only things from the brand I own so far were bought second-hand from thrift stores and I liked them enough that I'd consider buying more basics from them at least.
Is there anything there that's a 'you must get it from them and not anyone else' sort of item? Is the HeatTech stuff any good? Anything to avoid outright? etc., any opinions on anything are cool, thanks! |

I went to LUSH today and got ALL THE THINGS:- Ceridwen's Cauldron bath melt
- Sea Vegetable soap
- Bohemian soap
- Sandstone soap
- Honey I Washed My Hair shampoo bar
- Mask of Magnaminty face mask
- Cup o' Coffee face mask
Buuuut I was wondering if any of you guys have visited your LUSH stores/shopped online recently and noticed that a lot of their products are gone now?? I really wanted to get Ice Blue and they had none of it (and were trying to tell me that Sea Vegetable is a gr8 replacement product for it which made me LOL in the girl's face), and their shelves were surprisingly bare. And no Dirty! |

okay so modcloth has a special going on -- stylish surprise packages. it's one dress sized xs-l (unforch, i didn't find out in time before the larger sizes sold out) for $20. you're buying blind, final sale so it's def a gamble but i'm excited anyway.
they also had non-dress apparel ($15) and shoes ($10) available but those were sold out before i got there. i think the next time will be around in march so i wanna try to be on time next yr and maybe i can clue the community in sooner?! |

Because it's the holiday season, I thought it might be fun if everyone who subscribes to the ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/community.gif) treatyoselves community to do an Oprah-esque "Favorite Things" list to share with others. SADLY, all you get from this post is free reviews, sorry in advance. i recently ordered a bunch of stuff on recommendation of a few friends & boredom, so here's my haul. mostly asian beauty products (seriously, i made the switch a few months ago & my skin has never been clearer/prettier!!! plus super-soft, super-moisturized, i have a somewhat even skin tone and no gross flakes on my forehead and in between my eyebrows for the first time ever? WOW, i will probably make a post detailing my regime in pursuit of Perfect Skin especially because i have sensitive skin so i have had a lot of mishaps [looking at you, black soap that burned my cheeks off]) & some other things, but i don't know. maybe someone has some input here.

i've also been looking at etsy as a new place to buy cosmetics too! do you guys have any favorite etsy shops i should definitely check out? or "indie" cosmetics/skincare shops in general, ha ha ha, i really just typed that. |

My mom took me shopping for some (EARLY) birthday presents today and I only got a couple of things because I was looking for pants but they didn't have my size in-store. I ended up getting a top that was on clearance and two dresses so I thought I'd post them here since I rarely get new clothes!

Hey there darlins! I'm pretty sure this is semi-on topic and I'd love some opinions, if you've got em.
When you treat yoself as much as I do (this is really not a good thing), you may or may not be inclined to occasionally purge. I'm perpetually in with the new, but where does one out the old, exactly? I've got a stack of stuff that's really too good for Buffalo Exchange -- mostly fancy leather goods -- but I also find that I just don't use any of it that often anymore.
Does anybody have any experience with e-fashion consignment sites? There seem to be quite a few of them and I've been scoping them out with a skeptical eye. I'm basically looking for alternatives to eBay, though that may very well be where I end up if these other places don't pan out. Thoughts? |

HELLO, PEOPLE OF treatyoselves. I have a favor to ask. I'm the kind of person who, once I decide I need something, will stalk all of my favorite stores with obsessive fervor for weeks until the item I like (should I find one) goes for an acceptable sale price. The problem is, sometimes the item is so specific (in my case, I need a classy-lookin' black mini backpack, because BACKPACKS ARE AMAZING and I REFUSE to go back to handbags) that I have to broaden my search. But where to begin?? Well, instead of wading through paid endorsements on fashion blogs, I figured I'd just ask you guys.
What are your favorite online apparel, accessory, and cosmetics shops? We could compile a MASTERLIST, wouldn't that be cool?? If you could fill out the following for each of your submissions, I'd be much obliged:

right, okay friends, so for 99.9% of the united states (percentages may not be accurate), it is what the experts call Cold As Balls outside. i fully admit that for most of this week, i've been rocking what is termed as "desperate to survive chic," partially because i've had an ear infection and it is really difficult to care about yr couture when you have an ear that threatens to knock you out every so often. but the past few days, i've actually been rocking warm and cute so i thought i'd share today's outfit as well as my outerwear in toasty solidarity with friends. ch-ch-check it out underneath this dope-ass lj cut.

I went shopping! I bought some new clothes. Mostly tops but I did get two new dresses... The dresses aren't included here because I couldn't find any pictures of them online and I look too groce to do personal shots.

For those of us who like nail polish, Zoya is doing another one of their promotions! You can get 50% off for 6-24 bottles of polish. (The idea is that then you send in an equal number of old (non-Zoya) polishes that you want to get rid of and they'll dispose of them safely, but you don't actually have to send in any polish to get the discount.)
Does anyone have suggestions for good Zoya polishes? I don't own ANY but I want to!
SPEAKING OF NAIL POLISH, has anybody ever gotten a shellac manicure? I'm thinking about getting one before I go on vacation for two weeks so I don't have to deal with chipped polish. |
