IDK if anyone still capes for American Apparel in this era -- I remember it peaking in the late-2000s when I was in university, and then all the creeper stuff -- but if you're into their clothes, the company's gone bankrupt, so they're closing down their stores and everything is on sale!
I feel like the sale has been going on for months in Canada now, so there's nothing left up here anywhere unless you want neon tights and disco~ pants in XXS, but it sounds like American stores only just started as of last Friday with the buy-out announcement? IDK. If you're not into clothes, I know they were selling wooden hangers for 2/$1 up here, along with mannequins, store fixtures, computer paper, etc. if you need any of that. |

Hi friends! I was wondering if anyone would be interested in purchasing one of the Urban Decay Naked Flushed bronzer/highlighter/blush compacts in "Streak"? (ULTA has a listing for it here for more information.) It's brand new; it's only opened due to me opening it and going "awwww man that is wayyy too peach to work with my complexion." The little plastic sheet thing is even still covering the mirror (which is why that looks a bit cloudy in the pic). I really don't want for it to go to waste because it IS gorgeous; it's just personally a color combo that doesn't work for my super cool-tone vampire complexion. It retails for $32ish usually and I'd be happy to go for $20. (with the shipping included in that.) Pictures are under the cut!

I'm not sure who else follows Urban Decay for make-up brands, but just as a heads-up, their Revolution lipsticks (including the sheer and matte lines) are half-price now! Apparently, they're changing the packaging, hence getting rid of the current stock. I know for sure the sale is going on at Sephora in both the US and Canada (but a lot of colours are out of stock already), and I think other American stores like Ulta are doing the same.
So far, I got Anarchy, F-Bomb, and Venom from the main line, and Sheer Ladyflower and Sheer Slowburn, but I might go back and get more later. |

hello, hello ♥ i don't know how many of you are interested in indie perfume outside of bpal, but there's a few events today that have come up that i would like to plug:
sixteen92 has released her winter collection! sixteen92 is absolutely fantastic & has gorgeous, expensive-smelling treats that have serviced me very well. good throw, well-blended, and i've had positive experiences with all of my purchases w/r/t shipping. i've tried most of her general catalog and the recent halloween collection & blind-bought two scents for the winter release today (this is just to say & waking in winter, specifically). of her GC, the most popular are lolita, a really nice fruity scent, and black sugar which is a dupe for aquolina's pink sugar w/ a smoky/dirty/slightly chocolate-y bite. her lotion formula is pretty decent and the toasted marshmallow scent is EXACTLY like marshmallow fluff. it is amazing. i have it on my desk rn at work.
southern comforts released samples for her upcoming winter collection! i've heard really good things about her belle of the balm and just purchased it, and i'm a huge fan of her cake batter sugar scrub omg. IT'S AMAZING. i think the most popular scent she has is west memphis sweater weather, which is this amazing mix of french vanilla latte + toasted bread that i'm obsessed with (i keep a rollerball in my purse and also used my cake batter super fast). good staying power + good sillage, in my experience! her gourmands are fucking on point, and i also really like charlotte sunshine because it smells like amazing lemony sweet tea that dries down to this very gentle floral. her style is more nostalgic and her sugar note is super amazing. also she has a scent called 'cthulhu in carolina' which is A++++, smells like a storm inside of a library. i have literally tried her entire catalogue so if anybody wants opinions, lmk.
darling clandestine is also doing a 'shark friday' special! her scents are really unique and kind of a gamble, but the more adventurous might like to try her out! i love the descriptions she puts for her scents -- super beautiful, evocative writing, even if it's kind of difficult to guess what the notes are for the perfumes -- which might appeal to the writerly sides of us :) her TAT is kind of lame (it took me almost a month to receive my last order) but her scents are really unique, unlike anything else i've tried. IN PARTICULAR SHE HAS A PERFUME MADE IN HONOR OF BRIENNE OF TARTH CALLED 'MY LADY SER'!

okay so modcloth has a special going on -- stylish surprise packages. it's one dress sized xs-l (unforch, i didn't find out in time before the larger sizes sold out) for $20. you're buying blind, final sale so it's def a gamble but i'm excited anyway.
they also had non-dress apparel ($15) and shoes ($10) available but those were sold out before i got there. i think the next time will be around in march so i wanna try to be on time next yr and maybe i can clue the community in sooner?! |

You have to enter your e-mail address and zip/postal code to get in and see what's available, but stuff is up to 75%-off and shipping is $5 for the US and $10 for Canada. For those of us who like nail polish, Zoya is doing another one of their promotions! You can get 50% off for 6-24 bottles of polish. (The idea is that then you send in an equal number of old (non-Zoya) polishes that you want to get rid of and they'll dispose of them safely, but you don't actually have to send in any polish to get the discount.)
Does anyone have suggestions for good Zoya polishes? I don't own ANY but I want to!
SPEAKING OF NAIL POLISH, has anybody ever gotten a shellac manicure? I'm thinking about getting one before I go on vacation for two weeks so I don't have to deal with chipped polish. |

I went to the outlet mall today, which is such a bad/good idea it's not even funny. I am a sucker for sales, and EVERYTHING is on sale at the outlet mall. But I got a lot of cute things!
It is only after I had paid for everything and was on my way home that I realized that pretty much everything is the same shade of navy blue. Apparently, I was in a blue clothes mood.

Fashionistas, help me please. I have an old Groupon I have to use today, and I've narrowed it down to three.
#1: Corso Como Black Patent Pumps - These seem like they might be the most comfortable, with a 3" heel, a comfort pad, and the top edge of the heel looks... softer, maybe? Also, it looks like it doesn't ride as close to the ankle bone and I'm a pansy who's prone to blisters.
#2: Ivanka Trump Black Patent Pumps - These are perhaps just one tiny hair prettier, though? And since I'm above average height anyhow, is the difference between 5'10.5" and 5'11" really going to matter? I'm obviously in need of a giant to begin with. I could get some of the squishy tiny inserts for heels, though IDK if they work?
#3: Ivanka Trump Nude Patent Pumps - Is nude more versatile than black, or no? I have a dress I really like that's a nice deep blue color, and one with pattern but a base of brown, and while I feel comfortable mixing neutrals for most things, I'm not sure black works here? I have brown suede & snakeskin peep toes and vintage silver peep toe Ferragamos that are 1/2 size too small that I could possibly wear with either of those dresses, I just would like something a little simpler/more classic.
I suppose I could just buy all three and plan to return two...
[ Edit ] I went with getting all three to see in person and planning to return two. I'm actually good about returning shit so I won't be keeping more than one pair. |

For those of you into nail polish, Zoya (which is 5-free rather than just 3-three) is apparently doing a pretty sweet sale where you can get three of their nail polishes for free and only pay the $10 for shipping. There are a few exceptions like the new spring collections and the real gold flake topcoat, but otherwise, every other actual nail polish is game! It starts tomorrow and runs for a week.
Unfortunately, it's also Continental US only :| And if anyone wants some colour suggestions, I can offer a few, though I don't know their stuff quite as well as, say, OPI or China Glaze yet. But the nail polishes I've used from them so far have been fantastic. |
