When she felt like going out, Manda rarely felt like going out alone. Meeting Audrey at the bar was the easiest fix to that problem. "Get dressed, we're going out," she'd said after calling her friend up. Her day had been a forgettable one at the aquarium, with a retirement party for one of the most senior members of the coral reef wing.

But now she found herself in a cute little blue dress, sipping on a Bacardi and Coke that the bartender had paid for. Manda turned to her best friend and smirked, the red plastic straw between her lips. "That guy over there is dancing like he should be wearing a lampshade or something. The night's a little young to be that wasted already." The bar they were at currently was turning out to be a bit too much like a frat party for Manda's tastes, but the bartender was funny here, so they'd stay awhile and hope things got interesting.
