Brock had had a really lousy weekend, thanks to Shannon. It really p*ssed him off that she thought she knew him, when she didn't know anything about him. Not really.

He needed to relax, and he only knew one way of that happening. So he called Ty to come over, glad he didn't have to worry about his buddy coming to his place.

He'd started to convince himself the whole Shannon thing was a massive mistake, and he knew Ty would agree with him, which was another reason to hang.

"Hey man," he said, opening the door when Ty knocked.

"Beers cooled and ready," he said, nodding at them on the coffee table.

Climbing out of her car, Shannon was surprised to see her father's vehicle in the driveway as well. She checked her watch as she walked to the front door. It was a little before five, which is when she usually arrived home from school after one of her various club meetings. She wondered what he was doing home so early. It was usually seven or eight before he got home. Opening the front door, Shannon was immediately greeted with the muffled sound of her parents arguing. They'd been doing so much better lately, she thought, and now this.

Whatever. She didn't want to be there to hear it. Dropping her backpack on the small chair just inside the entryway, she headed for the phone in the kitchen, looked up Brock's address in the phonebook that was next to it, and exited the kitchen door. It wasn't until she was halfway to Brock's house that she realized he might be out or something. She really should have called, but she wasn't thinking very clearly at the moment. Pulling to a stop in front of his house, she hurried up to the front door and rang the bell. When she didn't get a response, she tried knocking. Still no answer. She didn't want to go to one of her girl friends' houses, not wanting them to worry about her, so instead she sat down on the front porch and waited. He had to come home sooner or later.

On his way home from Ty's, Brock thought about Shannon. Ty had said not to tell her, and Brock knew that was the smart thing to do. Fingering the phone in his pocket, he thought about her. They hadn't spoken in awhile, and maybe she was over it. For some reason, he wanted to know, so he pulled out his phone and scrolled through til he came to her number. After a few seconds of contemplation, he pressed call, fuelled by the thought of her, and a few beers.

"Hey," he said, smiling a little when she answered.

In Ty's opinion, it had been far too long since he'd had actual guy time. Every time he and his friends had attempted to hang out, the presence of a girl or two had completely ruined it. They'd complain about the stories and jokes told, act disgusted at the belches, and it seemed that every other word out of the guys' mouths earned them a punch on the arm.

This evening was going to be different, though. Ty had invited Brock over, with the strict understanding that no chicks were to be tagging along with him. Pulling two beers out of the mini-fridge in his basement, he lounged back in an arm chair and propped his feet up on the coffee table, waiting for Brock's arrival.

Miranda couldn't stop thinking about the news Mariah dropped on her the other day. She still didn't know whether to believe her or not, but that wasn't the point.

She couldn't be outdone by her sister.

She decided to go to Brock's house. She rang his doorbell and waited impatiently for someone to answer.

Miranda, Brock, and Cow Carcasses

Miranda needed to get out of her house.  Her parents were home, which meant it sucked there.  Deciding to go shopping for the Australia trip, she headed downtown.  But shopping to Miranda = Dull City, so she was taking her time...and decided to take a little detour past a certain butcher shop.

She opened the door and smirked when she saw Brock behind the counter wearing a bloody apron.

"Meet you out back?" she asked him, leaning against the doorjamb and folding her arms over her chest.

Brock and Ty hatch a plan

Brock passed Ty a beer, and sat down at the crappy table he and his Dad used to put their stuff on. He cracked it open, and drank.

"You know, I can buy all the beers I want when we get to Australia," Brock told Ty, holding out his can for a clink. He'd looked it up. Yep.

Shannon Emails Brock

Sitting down in front of her computer, Shannon opened her email and clicked on the button to compose a new message. It had been just a little over two weeks since her run-in at Bellair's with Brock, and Shannon hadn't spoken to him since then. She didn't want him to think she was mad at him, because she wasn't. Not really. She wasn't exactly pleased that they'd nearly gotten caught shoplifting, but it hadn't ended up nearly as bad as it could have.

The only problem was, she didn't know what to say. She stared at the blank message box, watching the cursor blink, until finally she just started typing.

Hannah had just gotten off work, but she didn't feel like going home, not yet. Despite the fact that she looked really rough - she had ketchup on her shirt from where she'd been bumped into at work and flour visible all over her black pants, she walked along downtown until she reached the Rosebud. She chose a table by the window and sat, ignoring the numerous wads of paper and straw wrappers on the seat beside her. The waitress walked up and she ordered herself a coffee. After the waitress had come and left, Hannah felt as if she was being watched. She looked cautiously around until she caught the eye of her watcher.

It had been almost a month since the after-party at Sheila's and Shannon still hadn't talked to Brock. She needed to do it soon though, because, really, it was getting ridiculous. Still, how did you even start a conversation like that? 'Hey, I think I might have made out with you on Prom night, but I'm not really sure?' No, surely she could come up with something more tactful than that. Making up her mind that today was going to be the day, she told herself there was no backing out and she was going to hunt down Brock and talk to him. Right after she finished shopping. There was a sale on shorts at Bellair's, after all.

Entering the store, she followed the little pathway that led to the Juniors section. Along the way, she passed the section that contained all the baby items and, much to her surprise, Brock was there. Well, there was no doubt about it now. She had to talk to him. As she approached him, she noticed that he seemed a little nervous. Maybe he was just embarrassed to be shopping there. "Brock?" she spoke up to get his attention.
