New Job ...

"I hate crowds," Shawna thought, as she rushed through the Christmas crowds loitering outside of Bellair's department store. As she entered the store she got a glimpse of Santa -- as well as what seemed like hundreds of whiny, impatient kids lined up to give their holiday wishes. "Thankfully I'm not working as a Christmas elf." Shawna passed some kids she knew, like Mary Anne Spier and Pete Black, who were working for Santa's holiday team. She hurried to the top floor of Bellair's, away from all the hustle and bustle and toward the corporate offices upstairs.

I was lucky to get this job. I beat out all of the teenagers in Stoneybrook, all itching for this coveted position. I was Bellair's new fashion intern. Shawna didn't know what this job entailed exactly, but she knew that she was going to make the best of it.

As she stepped off of the elevator, Shawna took a big breath. "This is it," she thought to herself.

"Hi Shawna!" a warm voice greeted her. She recognized it from the interview. It was Maureen McGill. "Welcome to your first day on the job."
