late night conversation

It was quite late in Stoneybrook, not to mention downright freezing. He had checked and they said it felt like twenty three degrees out or something. Freezing. But Woody still found himself sitting outside on the front porch, just kind of thinking and staring into the darkness. He wasn't thinking about anything in particular, but he did his best thinking in this spot.

He thought of the recent pictures he took for the yearbook and how he could arrange them in the book. He took it seriously and wanted it to look as best as he could make them. He thought of the essay that was due on Friday and of the test in Calculus also on the same day. He hates Calculus. It just didn't make sense to him.

Woody peered down the road. He saw a shadow walking in the darkness and wondered who could be wandering the roads at this time. It didn't matter too much, Woody thought of Stoneybrook as the safest place on Earth. Everyone knew everyone and no one truly seemed to wish ill upon others.

He maked out the shape of Howie, and smirked, "Sup?" He asked him as Howie started to pass by his house. He didn't think Howie could see him, but Howie was a friend of his, so he would have been rude to not acknowledge him.

Amelia talks to Miranda

Amelia had texted Miranda to meet her in the usual spot as soon as the bell rang for lunch. She saw her friend coming, and gave her a grin.

"Every winter I swear I'm gonna give up smoking," she said to Miranda, in reference to the cold weather outside. She pulled her hand out of her pocket where she was keeping it warm, bringing out a carton of smokes.

"I need to ask you something."

Getting coffee.

Andi had been at skating practice, and cheerleading practice, and she was KO. Now she was going for a cup of coffee before going home. She got in line, paid for her double mocca latte and looked around for somewhere to sit. She'd rather impose on a stranger than sit alone, so when she saw Dave, a guy she knew from school, she decided to ask if she could sit with him.

"Hey, is this place availz?" she asked as she stopped by his table.

I wish it was me.

Katie was going crazy hearing all about Logan and Cokie's baby. All she could think was That should be me that should be me that should be me and it was driving her nuts. She'd gone jogging to forget about the fact that her womb felt empty and that she'd driven her own baby out of her body. And the baby shoes in her drawer. It was cold, but she enjoyed it. She was wearing a sweatshirt and sweatpants only to feel the chill. Her mother and step father had commented on her looks:
'Those look like hip hop pants' her mom had said.
'All pants look like hip hop pants on Kate' her step father had answered.
And so it was.

She suddenly stopped short. Somebody had just said her name. And she didn't want to be rude or pretend she had music playing so she stopped.

"Hi" she said, wiping a strand of sweaty hair out of her face.

Starting Over...

Shawna Riverson's live was changing dramatically. She no longer felt close to her own friends. And she wondered why she was getting closer to people like Kristy and Stacey, girls who she would never have associated with a few years ago. They seemed to make the stress of an uneasy home life, school troubles, and duties at drama club and her after-school job go away. What was happening? Who was she becoming? The only thing Shawna knew is that she wasn't the same person anymore.
