It saddens me to inform you all that, due to a pressing family emergency, we have had to let Mr. Gurule go. I will teach his classes for the rest of the year.

The momentary madness that affected us all last Friday was due to a very unfortunate incident where some things ended up in a trash heap that shouldn't have ended up in there, and that trash heap was burned even though it shouldn't have. It was a fluke. If it gives you comfort, think of it as the universe playing a huge April Fools on you.

With Mr. Farrowe's prompting, a few Pegasi took it upon themselves to clear the grounds of leftover debris, cleaning up the bins and the trash-areas. They then proceeded to burn the organic waste, which included fairy dust, a magically imbued Venus flytrap, a broken shaman's ritual bone and a confiscated love potion that was almost lethally strong and almost certainly concocted by a clever if deluded student. A perfect storm happened: the ingredients burned up together, creating a potent love potion, which was spread over the grounds through the smoke.

Let's all be a bit more careful with our waste, shall we?
