The Titans #14
In the previous issue, Nightwing questioned peoples commitments to the team and told anyone who didn't want to commit to leave, causing Jesse to do so. He then feels over-stressed and heads back to Gotham for advice from his old mentor, so when danger strikes, Garth takes over the leadership role.

I think these are fun because you get to see the Titans rooms inside the tower. I love Toni's stuffed toys and Grant's room having all these archer themes and being a total wreck (which, at first, made me think it was Roys room), Kory being very stylish and feminine and Roy's little room sign. Even if that Ollie picture is freaky.

Followed by Dick doing something borderline dickery, but very self aware. That said, I love Dick's room having a Nightwing symbol.

I will be the first to admit that I wasn't bothered about Aqualad/Tempest, but I think one of the best things about this is it highlights that he can be very capable despite having a bad rep, while understanding the position Dick is so often put in.

So now it's off to Gotham, with Dick proving again that he is the bat who will ask for help if he needs it - though only from certain people.

Anyway, fight goes down, everyone but Garth gets out and there's general freaking out. Cue compliments about him and him being able to laugh at himself.

IIRC Danny Chase knew Dick's identity from the get-go. There's one issue where Danny looks up Titans Tower computer records of the various members origins and Nightwings origin carefully omits any identifying data, and the record makes no reference to who he really is, but that's because it's a computer record which could theoretically be hacked. Danny himself already knew.

Yes, that's the same issue I'm thinking of. And I didn't mean Danny didn't know—hard to keep secrets from a kid with ESP, after all. But that issue offers a precedent for Dick not leaving his real name anywhere it could be spotted, either by hackers or by Wildebeest-linked computer techs wandering around the Tower (which was the kicker at the end of that issue).

I sense you're begrudging a larger question of secrecy that doesn't appear on these scans—Dick not telling certain of these Titans his real name. I don't know this series, so I don't know how well that was handled.

True, though Danny didn't have ESP, he was 100% telekinetic.

Well spotted, though I did actually point that out in my first post! :)

When I read, "so much to dislike in this," I thought that meant the message would hit problematic details in this Titans excerpt. Rather than this Titans series, or even elements of Titans stories since DC's Crisis. (I myself still haven't fully gotten over the loss of "terminally normal" Wally.)
