Justin stood, hands on hips, in Britin’s front yard. “You’re fucking insane, Brian.”
“What? You wanted us to blend in, so I decorated. Well, I had it decorated. You don’t like it?”
Amazed, Justin glared at the decorations Brian deemed worthy of Britin. The life-sized animated zombies, fog drifting over the tombstones, mechanical bats swooping around on invisible wires, and the eerily realistic thunder and lightening show.
“The neighbors complained their children are terrified.”
“Isn’t that what Halloween’s all about?”
“Sending kids into therapy? We’re not going to get a single trick-or-treater.”
“Then my work here is done,” Brian grinned. |

Justin was working carefully with the X-acto blade. His tongue darted out between his lips as he concentrated. Brian leaned in to kiss him but Justin shrugged him away. Then he ended up stopping so he could give his cramping fingers a break. It was hours later when he was finally done.
Brian looked at the pumpkin with an odd design carved into it. “Modern art jack-o-lantern?”
Justin smiled, lit the candle and pointed it towards the wall. It created shadows of two men entwined. The flickering flame imitated movement. Brian laughed. “Well, that’s a holiday decoration I can appreciate.” |

TIMELINE: Anytime after Hunter started living with Ben and Michael.
A/N: I wrote a Hunter drabble before which I entitled "THE WINDOW" (you can find it under the cut). I couldn't think of any other appropriate title for this new Hunter drabble but the same one I've already used. I hope you guys enjoy it.
This is for Kinney.
Pretty little pumpkins cut out from orange papers caught your eyes.
They adorned a particular window right in the middle of that apartment building.
As you walked towards it, you remembered the days of coldness, restlessness, and solitude.
You stopped, feet planted firmly on the ground, eyes fixed on the old, paint-peeling frame of that window.
You stood underneath it; where silence was rarely observed; just like before while you await for your next costumer.
Only this time, it's different.
Shadows moved around by the window.
They're waiting.
A smile formed on your lips as you carried the pumpkins upstairs.

Notes: I am resisting the urge to give a timeframe 'cause xie made the point that a good drabble doesn't really need one. But I will say it's schmoopy. Thanks to ![[info]](https://www.insanejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif) catcayman for the beta. I really missed that last week!
And the condom goes to: Brian. I suspect he's not winning...I see vamp's name on a LOT of drabbles.
The sun was shining brightly; the air was crisp. The pumpkin patch bustled with children taking hayrides. Gus and JR, bundled against the chill, happily took their turn around the pasture.
Justin and Brian stood with Mel and Lindsay, watching. As the tractor pulled to a stop, Gus yelled, "Daddy, did you see me?" Smiling, Brian held his arms out for Gus to jump into, then gave him a hug.
"What did you bribe him with to get him to do this?" Melanie asked.
"It was his idea." Justin said, "It’s amazing what he comes up with after he comes.” |

Gus jumped in to get it, Brian pulled him out by his feet, and then all hell broke loose. I decided it was safer on the porch.”
“It’s a shame,” Lindsay smirked, “Brian might actually stand a chance if he’d stop defending his Armani.”

Justin blinked and tried to figure out where he was. Nothing looked familiar. He tried to sit up but every movement caused him pain. He closed his eyes, gathering his strength and then he gritted his teeth and stood up, taking in his surrounding. There were several puppies and kittens playing with various toys. He moved towards the window to see a Halloween Decorated front lawn, a picket fence and a minivan.
“Fuck. Brian? Are you here? Or am I alone in Bad!fic land?”
Brian looked equally aggravated; Gus was clinging to his hand. “Nope, we are definitely not alone.”
Two
Justin sighed. “I guess you’re hungry and I’m supposed to make breakfast.”
Gus gurgled “jooooose” to Brian.
“Yeah, it looks that way.”
Justin moved slowly. Brian reached an arm out to him. “You’re hurt?”
Justin nodded. “Don’t worry. After I make you some scrambled egg whites and whole wheat toast and get Gus his juice, we can figure out if it’s Ethan, my father, Kip Thomas, or some random asshole.”
“Hey, later, we can find out if you’re a virgin this time.”
Justin laughed. “We live together, I’d guess no.”
“Well, we’ll have to do some in depth research.”
“Yay!”

Justin had started it. He had found a gruesome, realistic-looking tarantula while shopping for Halloween. When a half-asleep Brian found it in the sugar canister as he was getting his morning coffee, he screamed like a girl. He later denied it vehemently.
The following evening, after greeting Brian, an exhausted Justin plopped onto the couch to find a severed hand sticking out from the cushions. It took a moment to register, but he bolted up, making a high-pitched squeal.
“Truce or is this war?” Justin asked.
Brian smiled enigmatically, and Justin’s eyes narrowed.

Justin finally looked up, putting his knife down, not too happy he’s interrupted carving intricate designs on his pumpkin.
“You need help, Brian?”
“Nope. I’m done.” Brian stepped back, looking at his masterpiece admiringly.
Justin walked over to Brian.
Brian’s pumpkin has two holes right next to each other for the eyes and a big “O” right below them.
Justin looked at Brian; chuckling, mouth wide open.
