Whizz Hard Book Launch
Who: Anyone related to Scottish Quid/Affairs/Press/Books in general (so pretty much all of you if you want) and all current and past members of both teams (NPCs welcome!)
What: The release of the Golden Neep companion book
When: March 16th 8pm
Where: Portree and Montrose clubhouses
Warnings: Language maybe? Drinking

This year marks the 400th anniversary of the BIL's most exciting rivalry: The Golden Neep! In honour of it, Whizz Hard books is proud to present a companion book to their world famous 'Quidditch Through the Ages'.

WELCOME TO THE RELEASE OF:

Neep themed decorations are throughout the cocktail party. Including intricately carved neeps, and hors d’ouevres served in small carved out neep bowls.

At one table on each of the Montrose and Portree sides of the party is a long table set up with the book of the hour! There are even special edition versions in Montrose or Portree colours available tonight. Everyone who has prepurchased their book will get it in a bag of their choice. Options: Montrose, Portree, Golden Neep (for those who like to remain neutral) designs.

If you’d like...try to get it signed by your favourite quidditcher, you’re likely to find them around here somewhere!

The Book of the Hour

Each side has a party!

Management offices on both sides are locked and heavily warded to prevent spies (we got your back, Fergus) from sneaking around. But the main areas of the trophies, historical rooms, and social rooms and lounge are all open to the guests.

Both sides have shined their trophies and old players have even lent their individual ones to buff up the display. On each side there are articles framed on the walls at various places, showcasing historic or significant victories or moment and each has even set up a historical showroom for it to show the uniforms over the years too. It’s a chance for both teams to show off their long history as BIL clubs and their numerous successes.

Just for tonight a dedicated floo connection has been set up between the two parties connecting the main rooms to allow people to move freely between each side. The floo will not allow you to go elsewhere and there isn’t even a requirement to name your destination, though if you’d like to leave please use the regular floo available around the corner.

While lacking the golden neep, the magpies do not disappoint with their showcase and have a whole hall with glowing BIL cups in cases, each one of their Cup wins has the winning team picture displayed underneath. Most cup wins in the league? Yes and they show it off. Along the hall there’s a space above the trophies and magically changing numbers show the current season (99/00) and the current team’s win record (10-0-0). Across from it that line shows the points and the current ranking (by the shoddy system, yes). 4750 - 1st.

There’s a room to the side with a display of all the Montrose uniform variations over the years along with various logo and scarf editions. The rest of their trophies are in large cabinets along another hall, organized by year regardless of discipline. Each decade has its own cabinet and some take up larger stretches. The rising and falling of various positions over the years can almost be mapped out. There’s even a line of snitch shaped seeker trophies lent by Coach McGonagall for display tonight to add to the collection.

Are Montrose a team with historically high standards for themselves? Well they’ve certainly set themselves up that way.

Don't hate them because they are number one both in actual wins and the shoddy system. 😃

That's why they put both the points and the wins ;)

And have an entire hallway of their cups because Montrose is #1 in everything and wants you to know it.

This is where Peggy is interested in going, preferably with Georgi, since these are the people she knows less about and the place she's only been dozens of time instead of hundreds. Also she is definitely trying the drink.

Georgi tries not to be too nervous about going over to Montrose and seeing his teammates and friends, because what is there to be nervous about really, but he is anyway. But he's happy to show Peggy some of the things he likes most at Montrose and talking about some of the history he's learned since coming here helps him relax considerably, so that he can actually smile. A little bit, anyway.

Having grown up around Quidditch she knows some of the history. But it's different to hear it from Georgi, and she thinks this is very sweet. If he'll let her, she squeezes his hand occasionally to reassure him.

Coach is happy to see Georgi there when he comes around! (Idk if Peggy is elsewhere) Always nice to have a chance to rep your team and show off it's successes.

Merc will take Gabi around the trophy rooms at some point to point out the ones he was involved with (she's seen the ones he's lent out already). All in all this set up makes him really proud to be part of Montrose and it's a nice memory of glory days. There will be more glory days though!

But he'll leave her to socialize seperately and check up on all his players that are here today and yes if anyone around (doesn't have to be a montrose type) wants to ask him stuff, he's happy to talk about the team's many successes over the years (srsly guys he is hardcore montrose from day 1).

Charlie tells Dani this side looks GREAT! They did an amazing job (well...she did lbh). He snuck in a Portree drink on this side for her so she can try both.

He'll later go off and bother quidditchers and other quid types to see if he can get any show ideas from talking to them. Or invite the odd one on. Who wants to talk this shit ranking system?

After having spent some time with Doc, Florrie has chilled out some from her earlier nerves about visiting the other side of the party. "Why thank you, Alex. You're looking quite stylish yourself. How are you finding it attending a party for the team where you're not quite on the job and didn't have to do the arranging?"

While they aren't huddling together at Portree, Catriona, Meaghan and Kirley do regroup to head on over to the Montrose side In Search of Hamish MacFarlan. Mainly because no way was Meaghan going on their territory without backup. Their purpling stands out rather in the sea of black and white.

Kirley showed off his legs and his tartan to Uncle Hamish and Meaghan told him she wanted to make a bet.

(Other people can have talked to them too of course!)

A Neon Pink Surprise

Jason is not at the party. He is in Sweden getting ready for his big race in a few days. He may or may not be grateful that broom racing is a great excuse for big quidditch events that are more political than actual fun.

However, before he left he did in fact hide a neon pink turnip or two int the Montrose trophy room. If anyone wants to find one, go for it.

Alex completely forgets himself the moment he sees her from across the room. "Holy shit! Fiona?"

On reflection, as he crosses the space to greet her properly- with a hug, of course-, he realizes that her being there actually makes a fair amount of sense, her dad being who he is to Portree and all. But still! "How the hell are you?"
