Alasdair absolutely takes Gina for a while, and his gentle tones and subtle intonations to his voice - he was never the loud and brash sort, unusually for the Pride - seem to be quite soothing. Babies do usually like him for that reason - that, and the strong Chaser arms being quite good for secure cuddles.

"How've you all been?" Alasdair asks, gently bouncing the wee one in his arms.

We've always been busy, between Montrose, Charlie's job, family and friends, but with this one walking, things have gotten infinitely crazier." Dani pokes Gina in the side eliciting a giggle. "Ah, really?" he says, grinning down at Gina. "Now, while it's very fun to cause chaos for the grown-ups, you mustn't make them worry too much, hmm?" he finishes, chucking her under the chin, causing another giggle.

Alasdair smiled again, thinking about Ada, who was staying at home for this one. "They're going well. We've got a date in June after the season's finished, which shouldn't surprise anyone, I think."

	Gina replies in her baby babble, clearly very pleased with all of this attention. "Excellent planning on your part," Dani says, by way of agreement. "I still can't believe Charlie and I had an April wedding. I thought I was going to go mad by the time it was all said and done. Much better to wait after the season closes." 	Alasdair grinned down at the little one in response, bouncing her a little and thoroughly enjoying their 'conversation'. "We thought that," he confessed, turning to face her a little with Gina still in his arms. "Mostly so we could have plenty of time to travel afterwards, though, and be back in good time for preseason. The last thing we wanted to do was rush." (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

"Not rushing is good. I can't say I was smart on that account, either, but it's all worked out well. I suppose there's not really any wrong way to go about it so long as the result is what you want." And being married to Charlie was definitely what she'd wanted at that stage in her life. She didn't even regret that the wedding itself had been stressful to plan, because it meant they'd been married sooner. "Are you travelling anywhere in particular?"

"That's what we thought as well - with getting the outcome you want, I mean," Alasdair replied, thinking of how they had two sets of family traditions to either include or ignore. Perils of marrying outside one's own culture, he supposed.

"We're doing a few days in France, to see the side of the family who can't make it to the wedding," Alasdair went on, bouncing Gina so that she knew she still had his attention. "After that, I'm finalising the arrangements for the honeymoon proper, but it's a question of choosing between the Caribbean or one of the island resorts around the Indian Ocean. Somewhere very much not in Europe," he laughed as Gina attempted to pull a longer strand of hair from behind his ear.
