Guess I’ll need some advice on dealing with getting broke up with by portal now. Ain't that special? 'Less someone here can tell me how to tell the difference between when folk disappear of a little while, and when it's ..proper gone?

Hey, River’s gonna have a real hard time with this, she’s never been in a world where Simon ain’t.

I’m tryin’ to keep her calm best I can, tho she’s got every right to be hurting so much.

I need help- I think Simon had her on some kinda treatment? Maybe? ‘least he did back on Serenity. Helps her cope, keep a handle on things better even when she ain’t going through something like she is now. I ain’t got a good gorram what he was doing for her in this world.

You folk got any way of finding out?

That's the truth. Wish we could figure them out some. Maybe how they take folks away? Make it so only them that wanna leave, do.

I got crew from home. River's here. She's Simon's sister, starting to feel a little like she's mine too. I just hope I can do right by her, now that he's gone. Jayne too, he's kinda like a big brother, only the sort that might sell all your stuff while you're sleeping.

	Life ain't exactly predictable even without portals, I guess. I'll bet they do. Seems like almost every other week there's someone new coming in, from so many different worlds.
