What: Lucas Scott and Layla Williams meet.
Rating: Probably PG just to be safe.
Status: Complete.

Lucas had spend some time in the library and was now taking a walk around the place. He was hoping to find some way to get back to Gilmore. He didn't think he would but he hoped he figured that he should at least try.

He stuffed his hands in his pockets and walked down by the lake. He looked out on the lake and watched the waves lap for a few moments.

	He looked at her as she looked at him with wide eyes. He couldn't help thinking how beautiful she was. He brushed her hair off her face and tucked it behind her ear. "You can talk to me you know," he said softly, his hand caressing her cheek without realizing it. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Layla was a little shocked at the intimate gesture. Her eyes went even wider, she licked over her lips and practically stammered at him.

"I...Uh, I...well, weirdly enough I feel like I can, but how do I know that I can, I can trust you? Not that I don't trust you, I mean I don't know you..." She rambled out, stammering even more, her cheeks burned a brilliant shade of scarlet now.

	He leaned in and whispered in her ear "You can trust me." He moved back and smiled at her softly. He stared at her taking in the curves of her face, the color of her eyes, the shape of her lips. She was beautiful. He had an urge to kiss her but they'd just met really and he didn't even know if he'd want him to kiss her. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

Layla could use some fun, but she is so worried right now about getting home and her mother and father coming to the college and not finding her, the terror they will feel.

"I don't know. I just can't concentrate on the fun when I know my parents are going to come to Gilmore and/or get a call from them and find out I am gone. the terror the pain they are going to feel?"

He moved closer to her and hugged her close to him. He ran his hands up and down her back. He knew he'd just met her but he sensed she could use the comfort.

"We don't have to do anything if you don't want to," he said. "And I know what you mean. My brother and sister-in-law will be wondering where I am too. Maybe we could look for a way to call your parents and my brother."

	Layla leaned into the hug some, she felt comfort knowing that someone close to her, even if she never met him before today was here with her. 	He stroked her hair gently when she lay her forehead against his shoulder. He was naturally a very touchy-feely person. "Honestly I don't know. But I guess the best thing to do is just tell them exactly what happened. If you like I'll stay with you while you call them. Sometimes it's nice to have moral support." 	Him speaking into her ear like that was going to kill her, he was going to kill her. Layla shivered hard when he did that, eyes closing. She pulled back enough to look him in the eyes then. "How can I lead the way. I don't know the way." Layla said to him softly, putting her arm in the circle of his arm. She bit the side of her lip and nodded. (Reply to this) (Parent) (Thread)

He noticed that she was shivering and assumed she was cold. He took of his jacket and slipped it on her shoulders before she put her arm of the circle of his arm.

"Oh that's right, you don't. I'm sorry I forgot. OK, I'll lead the way," he said with a smile.

He didn't add that she was proving very distracting.

He walked with her to the coffee place arm in arm. He couldn't help stealing glances at her as they walked.

	"Oh thank you for this. I am not really cold though." Layla didn't move his coat, she kept it around her, he smelled delicious. "OK, I will follow. No worries, I am right here." Layla walked with him, her eyes closed, not worrying about the dirt and grass around her because they wouldn't hurt her. "So, the coach of the cobra's? How did you like that?" 	She didn't move his coat and he didn't try to move it. "Yeah I love it. I used to play in High School but I had to stop for health reasons. I love the game though and I love to coach. We won the state championship a couple of years back," he said with a lot of enthusiasm. It was obvious he was passionate about what he did. "You like being on the swim team?"
