Hurricane Party!
Who: Ginny and the other residents of the resort
What: Hurricane Party!
When: Day 10, around 7 PM.
Where: The White Sands Resort Bar and Club
Rating: PG? I don't know what crazy shenanigans are going to occur.
Status: In progress.

Ginny hated being stuck indoors.

She almost literally been trying to climb the walls in her frustration when she'd decided to throw a hurricane party. She hadn't met many of the residents, and figured if there was anyone else as irritated at being stuck inside then they'd appreciate the change of scenery. It'd also give people a chance to mingle and meet. She wondered if there were others from her world here besides Tonks.

The planet had been most accomodating to her ideas. The club was currently themed for a luau, and small lanterns shed a soft glow over numerous smaller groupings of tables as well as over the dance floor and bar. She hadn't been sure what the other residents might eat, so she'd asked for a large selection of snacks. The bar was well-stocked as well. She didn't recognize all of the things stocked, but she did notice a bottle of Firewhiskey and what appeared to be butterbeer.

Now all this party needed was people. Maybe she'd get to see Max again.

"Look, there's people, observe the culture. It's your area of expertise, right?" He widened his smile while looking back at her and he answered her question. "Because may be you can determine why they are all buying this whole abducted-by-a-planet crap." God! the woman could be stubborn. "Don't worry, I'll do all the talking, you just stay with me and we'll be fine. Think of a big interrogation room full of suspects." He wanted to make her feel a little bit more comfortable in order to be able to take substantial information from anyone here.

He took a sip from his reddish drink after removing the little umbrella that came with it and looked at her while the bartender Golem handed her the same drink he had. "Funny, huh? woody here won't talk, won't look, won't do anything useful but they know how to present a drink." Booth said sarcastically talking about the Golem's attention of putting an ornament in his drink.

The place was no longer with a few people, it was starting to get crowded. He placed his arms on the bar and his head in his hands. Definitely this would be a long night. "Everything is free right?" Suddenly the doubt came to his mind and a confused expression was all over his face. He hadn't any money so...payment was no an option.

She gave him another look. She could tell he was getting annoyed with her, but she didn't care. He deserved it for dragging her out here. If she was supposed to treat this like the interrogation room back at the FBI building, she was going to get her two cents in, too. Still, she took his advice and kept close by. She could take care of herself, but in this case, she just wanted to blend in.

She looked down at the red drink with the umbrella and lifted it up, inspecting it for a minute before she removed the umbrella and took a sip. She made a face. "What is this?" It didn't taste bad, just very sweet. It didn't seem like Booth's type of drink. But, he was a constant surprise and she couldn't really count on anything with him.

"Yes, Booth. They don't have any form of currency. It's like an all expenses paid vacation where it includes everything. I don't understand who is funding this project, but it is very strange." She took another sip of her drink and looked around. She'd been here a few days ago with Ace. That was a memory she had to shake from her head. Not because it was bad, but because she didn't want Booth to ask her why she'd gone glassy eyed.

She bobbed her head to the music, tapping her foot. She really did love music. "I like this music." She commented idly. "So what are you waiting for, do your FBI thing, Booth. Interrogate these crazy people." She shooed him with one hand toward some people standing next to them at the bar.

"I don't really know...I just pointed out the drink of the guy next to me to Woody and this is it." He looked at her and flashed a smile. Listening to her intently he was trying to see what was going on in that head of hers, she seemed concerned about something but he figured that all this party thing was what had her preoccupied. If only she knew how great she looked like that, he was the one who had to be preoccupied, it was only a matter of time for men to come and flirt with her. His partner. Good thing he was around, he thought.

She encouraged him to start the 'interrogation' with the people next to him but he decided it was too early to do that. "Slow down Bones, why don't we just enjoy the party a little bit more, huh?" He turned around in his stool and watched the people around the little dance floor situated in the middle of the bar, "besides, I'd like to see how many people shows up to this thing before starting to do questions, you know? We have to prepare ourselves for what's to come." And with that he stood up and faced her extending his right hand to her, "Wanna dance Dr. Brennan?"

Bones wasn't all that impressed with the way Booth picked out his drinks, but it wasn't really that bad. It was actually good, if she let herself enjoy it. She turned away from the bar on her stool and scanned the room. There were a lot of good looking men in the room, and most of them were paired with an equally good looking woman. She didn't see Ace and breathed a sigh of relief. How would she introduce her to Booth? Oh, and by the way this is Ace, we had a fling a few days ago.

She frowned, turning back to him. He always told her to slow down. She was too eager to get to the bottom of things sometimes. She was too abrupt, too technical. She watched him turn to observe the people on the dance floor and crossed her arms over her chest. She leaned back against the bar as he continued to speak about preparing themselves about what was to come. What was that supposed to mean? Did he know something she didn't?

She smirked and choked on a laugh when he asked her to dance. "Are you serious?" But, she could see that he was. She liked music, and she didn't mind dancing. And dancing with Booth held a certain appeal. She could remember dancing with him when they were up in that podunk little town where they'd investigated a bear that had consumed a human hand. Then, he'd only danced with her because all the other men were interested in her. She wondered if he was offering this time for the same reason. But no one had approached her to dance yet. She shrugged once and then slid off her stool. "Only if you promise to dip me, Agent Booth."

After it came out of her mouth, she wished she hadn't said it, but it had been said and there was nothing she could do about it now. She held her left hand out to his, and took it.

He knew that surprises weren't the best for Brennan, certainly she wasn't prepared to receive such a question from him. Was it so ridiculous to ask her to dance? They danced once, twice before. If you count singing and moving along 'Hot Blooded' a dance. Anyway, she shouldn't be surprised. It's a party, she said she liked the music, it's the normal thing to do. Although in the past, when he was in High School, dancing was the last thing on his mind...

Booth narrowed his eyes and tilted his head a bit to the right with a half smile on his face in an effort to reassure her that his offer was serious. He was always serious. Ok, maybe when she was all about anthropology he loosed it but, most of the time he was.

When he saw her sliding off her stool he felt somehow accomplished, it wasn't such big of a deal but, he always liked to see her enjoy the moments. At least they could have some fun for a while before going back to reality and figuring how to get out of this place, and he liked to think that she enjoyed the time with him. The smile was still on his face when she said something about dipping her. He took her by the hand and guided her to the dance floor trying to understand the meaning of her words. For an instant some forbidden images came through his mind but he quickly pushed them away thinking of something appropriate to say.

"Though I'm not really into this Hawaiian music I'll do my best okay?", he said and placed his hands on her hips trying not to invade her much. The soft Hawaiian music sounded in the background and he noticed several people dancing too. "Last time I danced to this tunes it was the Hawaiian themed ball at school, I had some coconuts in my chest, over the flowered shirt, you know? the guys and I were all the same, we just went to mock the style." Booth said and remembered that night as if it was yesterday.

She smirked at him. "Booth, you're a good dancer. You just have to move to the rhythm. The type of music doesn't matter." Brennan was always, first and foremost, honest and abrupt. She told the truth, as she saw it, whether it was appropriate or not. She didn't care if others agreed with her, she always felt that what she said was right and everyone else was wrong.

She shook her head and laughed a little at the vision of Booth in an Aloha shirt with a coconut bra and grass skirt on. Even more impossible to imagine was a younger Booth in high school. She wondered what he had looked like then and if he had changed much. As much as she knew about bones, they never ceased to amaze her. Some people's bones changed so much that they looked completely different from the way they did as a child. And some people looked almost identical. She wondered which type Booth was.

They weren't in high school, though. They were stuck in some strange place full of strange people. They were at a bar turned tiki room with hawaiian music blaring through the speakers. Booth's hands on her hips were distracting her, and she tried to think of anything but the localized warmth they provided. Her own arms had gone around his neck, and they were standing uncomfortably close. She looked over his shoulder so she wouldn't have to look into his eyes. God, what was wrong with her?

The fact that Booth was the only person she knew was for real in this place, and the fact that is place scared her a little, might have made her a little more vulnerable to her feelings. But she was careful to keep them at bay. She wasn't going to break down now. Not with Booth there to witness it. She had to be strong. She was strong. He couldn't see her as weak. She hated that.

Two songs after and they were still dancing. Quietly moving through the dance floor. Too quiet. He wasn't the kind of guy who talked and talked and talked but, he wasn't the one who could be hours without saying a word either. He needed to talk from time to time, to engage in a conversation. Truth is, as Brennan once said, he got bored very easily.

He still had his hand on her hips and her arms were placed around his neck. He never been this close to Brennan since they started working together, at least not willingly. He remembered the first one, when they where inside Gormogon's vault and the transmitter did the beeping sound that he thought was a bomb, he threw himself over her to protect her and then she complained about it. Second and most important, how could he forget? The kiss they shared under the mistletoe. In the back of his mind he knew that if he wanted to back away from that situation, he could have done it. No doubt. But he didn't, he couldn't say no to her. It was her first Christmas in family after 15 years. After all it was just a kiss, under the mistletoe, Christmas spirit! Oh yeah, and a gum. Important detail that he would never forget.

Somehow, while he was in dreamland, the bar grew it's population. He turned his head a bit to the right to look at Brennan and noticed she had a confused gaze. He gripped her a little bit tighter by the hip and called her name to have her attention. "I think that there is much more people in here than before," they were face to face looking at each others eyes and before getting any an answer from her Booth pushed her back a few steps to end their dance. She looked surprised when he first talked to her, looking like she was focused on something absent minded. "Is everything okay, Bones?" maybe all this dancing idea wasn't very good after all. He needed to go back to his secure place, his stool by the bar with his drink, which he saw wasn't there anymore.

Beyond a few guy hugs and some closeness while investigating cases, they were never willingly this close together. Her breath hitched whenever his touch moved on her hips. It seemed like ages that they danced, but it was really only two songs. When he stepped away from her, her arms fell to her sides. She gave him a tight smile. "Yeah, I'm fine."

She looked back to where their places at the bar had been filled and frowned. "Maybe we should go. Come to think of it, I'm feeling a little sick. You... stick around, have fun. I think I'm going back to my room to lie down." She gave him a smile so that he wouldn't worry about her, but she headed off the dance floor and moved through the crowd to the door.

She slipped through the door and took a deep breath of air that hadn't been warmed by a hundred bodies. Live people were not her thing, and the possibility that they might not get out of here really freaked her out. She would cope eventually, because she was rational, but there was absolutely nothing rational about this place. Nothing at all.

She stepped into her room and shut the door behind her, leaning against it for a moment before she shut the light off. Crawling into bed with her clothes still on, she felt tears leak down her face and become absorbed by the pillow beneath her head. Even with Booth here, she'd never felt so lost.
