Hurricane Party!
Who: Ginny and the other residents of the resort
What: Hurricane Party!
When: Day 10, around 7 PM.
Where: The White Sands Resort Bar and Club
Rating: PG? I don't know what crazy shenanigans are going to occur.
Status: In progress.

Ginny hated being stuck indoors.

She almost literally been trying to climb the walls in her frustration when she'd decided to throw a hurricane party. She hadn't met many of the residents, and figured if there was anyone else as irritated at being stuck inside then they'd appreciate the change of scenery. It'd also give people a chance to mingle and meet. She wondered if there were others from her world here besides Tonks.

The planet had been most accomodating to her ideas. The club was currently themed for a luau, and small lanterns shed a soft glow over numerous smaller groupings of tables as well as over the dance floor and bar. She hadn't been sure what the other residents might eat, so she'd asked for a large selection of snacks. The bar was well-stocked as well. She didn't recognize all of the things stocked, but she did notice a bottle of Firewhiskey and what appeared to be butterbeer.

Now all this party needed was people. Maybe she'd get to see Max again.

Scott practilly beamed as he strolled through the doors as if he owned the place.

It wasnt everyday he got to go a party,ok so he would admit he no idea what a hurricane party was exactly,he was 17 and all partys were the same to him anyway,so what did it matter?Still,it wasnt like he had had an elsewhere to be or anything,he thought as he gazed about the room, slowly making his way toward the buffet table.

He was dressed in his usual garb, black and white 'camouflage'jeans, kurt cobane t-shirt and of course blinding blue dyed hair.

He stopped by the bar,half-expected to be carded, but gave his order to the golem..thing."Uh..beer please?"He asked, still not to sure about this whole thing.

After she and Rogue had parted company, Haruka had gone to take a better look at her room. Her initial observations had been correct. The room was an exact match for the room she shared with Michiru at home, even down to the water stain on her bedside table. It had been too painful to stay there, surrounded by the reminders of her life before, (she could swear the pillow smelled like Michiru's hair)so Haruka decided to spend the day exploring the interior of the resort. She'd discovered the video game room, and spent a good deal of time cloistered inside the racing game she'd found near the back of the room. If the weather outside had been better, she'd have gone looking for a dirt bike or a dune buggy or something so she could feel the wind, but it wasn't, so the game had to suffice.

She noticed a flyer for the Hurricane Party on her way out of the game room and scanned it quickly. While she didn't really feel like going to a party, it would give her a better idea of exactly how many people were here, and give her a chance to see if anyone had figured out exactly why they'd been stolen away. Plus, parties usually had bars, and, while there was a bar here, she'd noticed, drinking alone was never a good idea. And oh, she could use the drink right about now.

Haruka had returned to the room and discovered that one of the bags she'd brought with her had overbalanced and spilled everywhere. She shook her head. She could deal with it later. She crossed to the closet, wincing at the number of Michiru's outfits that greeted her as she opened the doors, and fished through to find something suitable to wear. Haruka wasn't one for formal attire, so she settled on a pair of slacks and a sleeveless shirt, then turned and made her way back to the main building and the luau party.

She blinked at the sight of so many people gathered inside. The situation was worse than she'd imagined. She scanned the crowd, not really taking in anyone's appearance, and spied the bar opposite. She wove through the crowd, careful not to jostle the dancers, and grabbed a stool next to a boy with very blue hair - more blue than Ami's, which Haruka didn't think possible. She heard the tail end of his order and smirked.

"Not sure what you want?" she asked. Then, she turned to the weird stone creature serving, raised an eyebrow at it, and ordered herself a rum and Coke. No sense in going too hard too fast.

He halfturned, his unsure grin still plastered in place at the sight of the lady who had seated herself near him "Yeah"He muttered, shrugging. He didnt exactly want to tell her he wasnt legalyet.adults seemed to frown upon that.

"thanks"He muttered the 'bartender'who promptly handed him his order.Brown eyes looked the women over carefully before he extended his hand, mannersat least he had."Names scott"He offered, giving her a half smirk and taking a sip of his beer.

He resisted the urge to gag.How could people drink this stuff?it wasnt like he drank all the time, seeing as jay was more of a video game geek then a drinker. "so uh..nice party"He finished. Lame,oh he was sure that sounded so lame.

Haruka nodded as the creature brought her the drink she'd asked for. He didn't look much older than her, if at all, and she wasn't exactly of legal drinking age in Japan. Then again, breaking "silly" laws hadn't ever bothered her - she'd been driving illegally for how long now? Setsuna, however, was of legal age, and had never had a problem buying for her partners. She took a sip of her own drink, smiling as it ran down her throat. Whatever the creature behind the bar actually was, it could mix drinks. Perfect portioning of alcohol to soda.

"Haruka," she said when Scott introduced himself. She nodded, lowering her shoulders as well in a very casual bow, before reaching out and taking his hand to shake it. Clearly Scott was from somewhere in the West, perhaps from somewhere near Rogue.

She stifled the urge to chuckle at his attempt at small talk. Instead, she took another sip of her drink and shrugged. "I didn't realize there were so many people here," she said, scanning the room again, still not really seeing anything. "I only arrived here this morning."

Scott frowned slightly at her name,he knew it was japanese,he had learned some during school as well, though he doubted it was enough to hold a conversation, unless it was to ask where the bus stop was. "Nice, that means uh,flowers right?"He asked light, not wanting to insult her, though knowning him,it would probaly nothing and make look like even more of a doofus.

His eyes scanned the room, their were a lot of people, though the room didnt seem to be filled yet "Yeah, really?I've been about.."He paused, trying to recall exactly how long he'd been here, though the days had pretty much blurred together"..about 6 or 7 days."He finished with a nod.

Haruka chuckled a bit. "I think you're confusing it with 'hana'," she said. "Hana means flower. Haruka means 'distant." She looked at Scott more closely, a smile creeping onto her face. "How long have you been studying Japanese?" she asked. She hadn't expected anyone to know her native language at all here. Even if Scott confused a few words, it was clear he'd at least studied some.

Her eyes widened when she heard how long Scott had been trapped in the resort. "Six or seven days?" she echoed, reaching for her drink again. She steadied her nerves, then leant forward. "Have you any idea of who or what brought us here, or why? Has anything revealed itself in the last week?" He'd been here long enough that surely he'd have more information about what was going on than she or Rogue had. And the more information they collected, the more likely they could find a weakness in whomever had taken them away, and use it to their own advantage.

He gave her a sheepish look."right,I'll have to remeber that"He said, feeling very much like a doofus. At least he had been close enough.

He shrugged, taking another sip of his beer "bout a few years, most of it I learned at my school..which of course means I can only say a few simple sentences"He snorted, grinning. "But I do wanna journey over seas one day..well wanted to at any rate"

He raised an eyebrow at her barrage of questions, but didnt think anything of it,he had probaly been the same way his first day here."I only know what everyone else has been told, that we've been jacked some planet..thing.And other then the freakish hurricane that suddenly cropped up?I found squat,no visions of the future or whatever for me."He said shrugging."Though that would be kinda cool"he added.

Haruka felt a pang of sympathy when Scott mentioned his desire to travel overseas. In a weird way, he reminded her of Usagi, just for a moment. Why would anyone take them away from their homes, their families and friends, their dreams and desires, to plunk them down in such an artificial place? It made no sense to her.

She nodded, having heard the same information that morning from Rogue. "It seems that's all anyone knows, then," she said. "That's all whoever has done this to us wants us to know." She curled her hand into a fist. Someone or something was toying with them, clearly, to set them down in a place like this, and it made her angry.

She looked up at Scott when he mentioned visions of the future. "Have others gotten visions of the future?" she asked in all seriousness. Rei's visions were startlingly accurate, once they figured out what they meant. Perhaps if someone here had received a vision, they could use it to their advantage. But, how likely was that? Haruka shook her head. "I'm sorry, I must sound strange," she said, sagging back in her chair. She downed the rest of her drink, then looked back to the creature behind the bar, who offered her another immediately. She took a large sip and sighed. Then, she looked back at Scott. "What else were you studying?" she asked. Perhaps, at least for today, it would be best to stick to polite conversation. She felt too emotionally drained to handle much else without having her usual outlet of driving.

Michiru threaded through the crowd, a cold knot of nerves sitting in the pit of her stomach. She felt like a schoolgirl again, a rolling mix of excitement and fear as she approached the bar. Frustratingly people kept moving in her way, keeping her from confirming her hope.

Finally she made it, coming up to the end of the bar. Yes, yes, it was her. She wanted to run over, wanted to scream, cry, and wrap her arms around that blond-haired woman and never, never again let go.

But she didn't. Instead, she walked over calmly, laid a gentle hand on Haruka's shoulder and asked "Where have you been?" in a mock scolding tone that none the less had depths of feeling behind it.

Haruka froze as she felt a hand on her shoulder, a familiar weight she didn't think she'd ever feel again. And then, the voice. The sweet, melodic voice. She'd heard those tones so many times in the past month, whispering in her head. Either the alcohol on this planet was more potent than it was on Earth, or... or just maybe everyone had been wrong.

Haruka closed her eyes, took a deep breath, then sighed. When she opened her eyes, she could still feel the warmth on her shoulder, and she smiled. "Waiting for you," she replied. She turned her head, slowly. If she was wrong here and now, Scott would think she was crazy. Perhaps she was. But if she was right.... Michiru's gaze met hers, and the chill that had settled on Haruka a month earlier dissipated in an instant. "What kept you?" she asked, a smile forming on her lips.

"I could ask the same of you!" Michiru said, her tone still joking, but there was a whirlwind of emotion behind her eyes. All of her stress and turmoil of the past few days flowed away. Here she'd been so lost, but her prayers had been answered, her anchor had returned. She moved around, with a barely polite nod to the young man Haruka had been talking with.

"Where have you been?" she asked, her voice lower and more intense.

Haruka read the unasked questions in Michiru's eyes, all of the things she wouldn't ask in front of people, might not even voice in private. Her own gaze was also full of questions, conflicting emotions. Relief at finding Michiru again, after thinking her dead, mixed with sadness that she'd clearly been trapped here. Scott had said he'd been here a week. How long had Michiru endured this place?

"Waiting in hell," she said, her own voice going quiet. She swallowed hard. Crying in such a public place was not an option, not now. This wasn't the time for tears, not even tears of joy at finding the other half of her soul. "Everyone has missed you."

Michiru moved her hand from Haruka's shoulder up to touch her jawline lightly. "Indeed" she said, letting the one word answer many of the things she saw in Haruka's eyes. "This is no longer the hell it has been the past few days" she said with a hint of a smile. There were so many things she wanted to say, wanted to do, and ask, but she couldn't, not in public. But there was one thing she had to ask, and to hell with whether it was appropriate or not.

"Did... did she succeed?" she asked, feeling an unexpected lump in her throat.

Haruka leant into the touch ever so slightly, uncaring of what anyone around them might think. She nodded. "She did," was all she said. They could discuss what had happened in more detail later, when they were alone, after they had a chance to touch base again, recenter.

Haruka turned back to Scott, whom she had been neglecting during this exchange. "I'm sorry," she said, offering up a slightly sheepish smile. "This is my Michiru. I'm afraid I'll have to continue our conversation at a later time, Scott." She rose, and slid the remainder of her rum and coke over to the boy. "Try this; it's much better than beer, I promise." She bowed to him, then turned her attention back to Michiru and reached for her hand.

"Would you like to stay a little longer, or shall we retire for the evening?" she asked. Part of her wouldn't mind staying and dancing for a little while. Part of her wanted to run, dragging Michiru along, back to their room (she had no doubt that it was theirs now) and.... She let that thought fade in her mind with a smirk, looking to Michiru for her next course of action.

Michiru let out a breath she hadn't realized she'd been holding. Good. They could discuss the details later. She caught Haruka's hand and gave the other girl a long, meaningful look.

"It has been a long day" she said quietly "This party holds little for me, now that I've found you."

"Then we should retire for the evening," Haruka said. She felt the lacerations and scarring on Michiru's fingers, and raised an eyebrow in a silent question. There would be time to discuss that later as well. She drew the other woman close and began winding her way through the crowd, a full smile playing on her lips. She nodded at various people as she made her way to the door, leading Michiru through the crowd.

All in all, it hadn't been too bad a day, she decided.
