Hurricane Party!
Who: Ginny and the other residents of the resort
What: Hurricane Party!
When: Day 10, around 7 PM.
Where: The White Sands Resort Bar and Club
Rating: PG? I don't know what crazy shenanigans are going to occur.
Status: In progress.

Ginny hated being stuck indoors.

She almost literally been trying to climb the walls in her frustration when she'd decided to throw a hurricane party. She hadn't met many of the residents, and figured if there was anyone else as irritated at being stuck inside then they'd appreciate the change of scenery. It'd also give people a chance to mingle and meet. She wondered if there were others from her world here besides Tonks.

The planet had been most accomodating to her ideas. The club was currently themed for a luau, and small lanterns shed a soft glow over numerous smaller groupings of tables as well as over the dance floor and bar. She hadn't been sure what the other residents might eat, so she'd asked for a large selection of snacks. The bar was well-stocked as well. She didn't recognize all of the things stocked, but she did notice a bottle of Firewhiskey and what appeared to be butterbeer.

Now all this party needed was people. Maybe she'd get to see Max again.

If Faith was trying to solve a mystery, she was going to have to try quite a bit harder than she was doing. After all, Clark Kent was the self proclaimed 'Fort Knox of Secrets' for a reason. Faith might have lived in a world where other people were like her, accepted her, were friends with her, to a certain extent anyway. Clark, on the other hand, had no one like him in the entire world. The closest thing he had was people who had powers like his own, however, for most of them, that power turned them into something twisted, something unrecognizeable. Deep down inside, especially after coming into contact with Red Kryptonite which tainted his mind, Clark feared that he might become that way someday. That all of his powers might somehow make him think that he deserved to rule the world with an iron fist. It was what Jor-El wanted, but his biological father could go get-...

Clark stopped thinking about it and concentrated on the girl in front of him, who was starting to relax. It was becoming clear that he'd have to be at least a little flirtatious or else he was going to blow his cover, he just didn't want to go too far. Faith might have been the love 'em and leave 'em type, but Clark, on the other hand, was as virginal as the freshly fallen snow, however hunky he looked.

And it showed when she got him to blush as she mentioned it being too bad that he didn't get naked, internally thinking he may have taken the joke a bit too far. One thing was for sure, Faith was the type to share what was on her mind. Either that or she was a good actress. Clark swallowed a little, and opened his mouth to comment, but closed it again, not thinking of a good retort to her statement. He guessed he had an okay body, but he'd never thought of himself as the sort of guy who could walk around without a shirt and have all the girls stare.

He blinked at her comment about not being fragile enough to break, and looked away momentarily. How did you tell someone that you were dancing with that you could probably tear them in half even if they'd been made out of titanium alloy? Oh right, you didn't. And distracted as he was his hands didn't resist where she lead them until they were already there, absentmindedly almost sliding down into her jeans before he came back to reality and blinked a little. His hands were surprisingly soft for as muscular as he was, but then again building callouses would have taken quite a bit more work than Clark could have done without attracting attention. Slowly his hands slid up her back, away from the danger zone and rested a little higher than she might have wanted, but it was clear that was all she was going to get.

"So how about you, huh?" Clark said after a moment, his eyes narrowing on Faith, and suddenly it was becoming clear that the tables were turning. "I don't know many girls that can jerk a guy off his feet like that... Are you an amazon or something?" he said, then realized after a moment that she might be. Hell, he didn't know... and if she was, well, that would be awkward...

Faith had decided early on that there was no point in keeping most of what she was a secret. Lestat had already read her mind, after all, and there was no real reason, no way to kill vampires or slay demons, here. So why keep the secret? It didn't make much sense, and she'd never seen the point in putting a whole lot of effort into something that had no point.

So, when he looked at her appraisingly, she just laughed, winked at him playfully, and didn't even hesitate before telling him the truth. Or, at least, as much of it as she thought he could handle. He seemed a bit naive. She wouldn't want to break his brain or something.

"I'm the Slayer... I kill vampires and shit like that. Or, well, I did before I was taken."

That was about all the information that she would was important, so she just continued to move with the music, pleased when he seemed to loosen up a bit. Not much, he was still moving like he was uncomfortable with the whole thing, but progress was progress. His discription of her actions had her laughing.

"Flattering, but... no, I'm not an amazon. Just strong, train alot, all that junk."

Deciding that talk was waste of breath that could be used for more important things, like dancing, she threw herself even more energetically into the movements. She didn't really know where this was going, but who cared? As long as she had fun along the way, it was all good. Maybe she'd make an effort to get him into bed, and maybe not. It would all depend on how it felt at the time. That fact that there was no way he wasn't a virgin didn't bother her, either. Challenges were fun, and Xander had been one when she'd jumped him.

"You kill... vampires..." Clark said, somewhat incredulously, staring at the woman for a moment as if he were a normal person on her world who had never even heard of blood suckers. "Like, dracula, I'm going to bite you in the neck and suck out all your blood style vampires?" He said, his eyebrows still raised, clearly amused by the development. Of course, Clark had, like most normal people, only really had experiences with vampires from campy B movie flicks, where the vampire action was half comedy and the girls were very... titilating. Then again, now that he looked down the lean body of Faith, maybe it was all starting to make a whole lot more sense than he'd given it credit for at first...

"Man, and I thought my world was screwed up..." he said with a gentle smile. Still, the inner reporter in him didn't exactly want to let it go at that, and Faith seemed pretty comfortable with the subject, so he continued. "So, in case I ever meet one, what IS the best way to kill a vampire?" He asked, clearly not understanding that a Slayer in itself was a special title and had special abilities associated with it. Clark wasn't exactly a slouch, but he probably couldn't put a stake through someone's heart with a flick of the wrist at 30 paces either.

"Oh, good, for a minute I was kinda worried I'd said something offensive..." Clark admitted when she mentioned not being an amazon. "It's kind of crazy to think that anyone here from any world could be here right in front of... you..." Clark trailed off as Faith started to give him that somewhat hungry look again, that made him a little worried about the possibility of a slow song coming up. She was awful close right now, but at least it wasn't bumping and grinding... somehow Faith struck him as someone who would be into that if the mood was right.

Despite her desire to save her breath and just enjoy the moment with him, Clark was... well, a talker. Especially when he was nervous, which he clearly still was a bit with the extroverted woman who was nearly in his arms. "So, are you actually from America? Is there an America in the place you come from? I met someone today who was from somewhere where there were only four tribes of people on the planet..." he said, shaking his head as if the idea was still hard to process even now. He got the feeling that Faith was enjoying his questions less and less though.

"Want to get a drink?" he offered, rather sheepishly. Yeah, not so good with the ladies, or knowing what to do with one, even when she practically jumped in his lap.

She didn't, actually, have a whole lot of experience in telling people just who she was. Before Mirage, the only people who had known were people that would understand, who had experiences with just what the Slayer was. She simply wasn't used to the reaction of people who had no idea, and it threw her for a loop in a way that most things didn't manage to do.

Still, nothing phased her for long. Not even the inadvertant murder of the Deputy Mayor had kept her down, not for long. So she shrugged the whole thing off, except for a slight mischievious urge that wanted to show him just what a Slayer could do. He obviously had no idea. But this was a party. So she just leaned over and whispered, her breath tickling his ear.

"Someday, I'll show you... but don't worry, I'll be gentle. The best way to appreciate the Slayer is to see her in action and you look strong enough to give me something close to a decent challenge."

Just as he'd feared, the music switched to a slow song, and the seductive young woman draped herself over him. It wasn't as bad as it could have been, though. She kept her hands draped around his back, rather than grabbing for his ass like she would do in a different mood. She was fairly mellow right now. It had been awhile since she'd been in a fight.

"Yeah, I'm from the good old U S of A, California, most recently. Before that, all over." She laughed a little. "There's some weird people here, for sure. It bends my head, kinda."

She pulled away and looked at him with a small smirk on her face. Finally, she shrugged and un-draped herself. She had been dancing, and was a little thirsty anyway.

"Sure, whatever."

Clark realized a little after the fact that Faith might think that he was being a bit rude with how he was treating her given profession. He supposed if he actually had to fight vampires all day long, he might not think it as funny as he did, but it was hard to picture a vampire as something other than a bad actor bearing their fangs overly wide and posing for the camera. He thought after the fact that he should ask her if she used garlic. He had to wonder how many things that were just jokes in his world actually translated into real life ways to fight vampires in hers. He wondered if one man fighting off hordes of super powered mutants might be considered entertainment in her world, but the thought of asking her just seemed a little too absurd to bring up.

As she leaned in towards him, Clark's body stiffened slightly as the lithe curves of the slayer slid along him and her breathy voice whispered softly into her ear, causing a light shiver to run down his spine. Especially at her words, which at first made him a little frightened that she knew more than she was letting on, and then a little panicked because despite himself the slayer did really have a way of pushing his buttons in a completely opposite way then Lois did. He swallowed slowly and looked at her, his eyebrows raising. "I think I can do without being slain, and I'm not a vampire..." he said with a light chuckle. He didn't think she was serious... think, anyway.

And then there came on a slow song, and Clark felt the young woman's body press against his own, and another, very different part of his body began to stiffen, along with his back. It was extraordinarily embarassing for him, but then agian, he WAS a teenage guy with a fair amount of hormones and not too much experience. And it was for the best that Faith didn't grab his ass, or he might have pulled her hands from his butt regardless of how strong she was. He felt like a cat on a boat surrounded by water, and there was a slightly panicked look in his eye as if he were getting in over his head.

But in the next moment she mentioned she was from California, and finally took his suggestion to go get a drink. When she wasn't looking Clark tugged at his collar. For some reason it felt hotter than a blast furnace in here. He put a hand lightly on her back to stick with her as they made their way through the people. Even though his nerves telling him to dash the same way he had when presented with the awkward situation with Lois earlier, he forced himself to stick through the situation. Lana, after all, was more or less out of his life at the moment, and, even if she hadn't been, it wasn't like he could tell her the truth... Faith, on the other hand, might understand where he was coming from better than anyone he'd ever met...

It was at least worth hanging around, even if he felt like at any moment he was going to get mauled like a piece of meat...

"So, what do you want to drink?"

This whole thing was highly entertaining to the young woman. She'd been determined to have a good time, and with a homegrown farm boy like this one, it was impossible to have anything but. Alright, so it really didn't hurt that he was cute, and the aura of mystery around him that she still sensed, though only just, was enough to keep her more than intruiged. With Faith, chances were good at any given time that she'd get bored and go away, but at the moment, there was not even a remote thought of that.

She had felt his physical reaction, of course, and the more mischievious part of her wanted to encourage it, see how far a shy young man like him could be tempted to go. Another part of her, though, was very thirsy. Also, she suspected if she had, he might jump out of his skin. So she allowed herself to be lead away, and soon they were beverage table. Wondering what would happen, she ordered a shot of Whiskey. The golem didn't even hesitate as it handed it to her, and it didn't take her long to down the thing.

She saw the look he gave her at her drinking, when she was underage. Most places in the world, of course, she wasn't, but the US had some strange laws, and she didn't feel bad about breaking that one. Or really any of them, actually. Also, she wasn't in the US anymore, so all bets were off. Still, she rolled her eyes and smirked at his reaction.

"Alright, Daddy, I'll lay off the booze and be a good little girl. For now, anyway. Um... I'll have a root beer float!"

Soon, the drink was in hand, and she was sipping it. To be fair, it was much better at actually quenching her thirst than the whiskey, or even the beer, had been. Idly, she dug the spoon she'd been provided into the pile of ice cream and licked it off, making eye contact in a very suggestive way as she did so.

"Seriously, though... you feel strong, stronger than you look right off the bat. We should fight sometime, you can show me how good you are. Or... I can show you how good I am."

It was probably not only amusing for Faith, but for anyone who was watching as well. Clark didn't do so well with disguising his awkwardness with situations, especially when it came to romantic ones. Yeah he could pretend to be a klutz in order to avoid people suspecting that he was really an alien from another world, but when it came to a hot body pressed up against his, he became easier to read than a young adult novel. As Faith pressed to him a unique mixture of fear and discomfort was on his face, so much so that it looked as if he were about to burst, though probably not in the way Faith might have thought. All in all he was one step short of jumping out of his skin before she finally let him up for some air, and he more than happily walked with her over to the bar for a drink.

Clark was so releaved in fact he didn't really notice when she ordered a shot of whiskey, but then did a slight double take before staring intently at the menu as she downed her shot, now and again giving her a sidelong glance as if he wanted to say something about her drinking habits, but thought that she might suddenly tell the entire place what a loser he was and have everyone laugh. For his part he didn't actually ever get drunk. His dad had told him there'd be a time for it, but, when on Red K he'd had a beer or two, and had realized then that whatever physiology kept him from being hurt also kept his body metabolizing alcohol in a way that humans couldn't. Which basically meant no beer buzz.

"Uhm..." Clark finally started to say, and was relieved when Faith made it clear she would stop drinking, even if she treated him like a parent for it. It was hard, trying to get people around you to make smart choices... harder still when you desperately wanted to fit in, especially given that it was Clark's only real way to fit in, given that sports and other physical activities were more or less off limits to him because of his powers. And in a farm town, there wasn't much more to being popular then being a football star or having a hookup for an awesome party. Not that Clark hadn't hosted a few of those, inadvertantly... but it wasn't something he was too comfortable with. Really though, if Faith hadn't said something he probably would have just let it slide... uncomfortably.

"I'll have one too..." he said, staring at the golem for an extra moment, clearly new enough here to still be somewhat taken aback by them. Then agian, Clark didn't think he'd ever get used to the servants, especially not with the way they could take a punch. Remembering it he rubbed his knuckles on his right hand lightly and took up his rootbeer float, taking a long slow drink of it before turning to look back at Faith, who was now rather erotically licking some icecream from her spoon as she stared at him.

If causing Clark to choke on his drink was the desired effect, she got it. The farm boy's eyes flew open slightly as he inhaled the fizzy soda down the wrong tube, as it were, and put his hand over his mouth as he coughed lightly, blinking a little as he felt the foam tickle his sinuses. Smooth, really smooth. "Sorry..." Clark said after a moment, looking away from her out to the dance floor as if someone out there was going to holler that they'd found his dignity and he could he should come get it.

At Faith's comment he turned back to her, and shook his head slightly. "I'm just a country boy..." He said with a small smile that seemed to hold that mysterious secretive air that was catching Faith's interest. Not that he realized it, of course. But it was probably becoming clear to Faith that the man in front of her wasn't going to admit it if there really was something special about himself. "I'm sure anyone who spent as much time as I do bailing hay would be just as strong..." Clark lied calmly. It made him feel bad to do so, but Lois was here, and he was pretty sure that even around here, being an alien was something special. Heck, Katara had only met one, but she'd talked about him...

"Do you challenge every guy you dance with to a fight?" Clark said, loosening up a little as he attempted to shift the conversation away from himself again. "That's gotta be pretty hard to top on the second date..."

There would be far worse ways to spend an evening, the dark-haired Slayer mused to herself, than teasing the hell out of some poor farm boy. Very entertaining. The sputtering, the coughing, and the looking around furtively. Of course, she might well find it amusing. She'd never really had an awkward stage, not one that she'd let anyone seen, anyway. Maybe she would have felt less amusement and more sympathy if she'd ever had a similar experience. Then again, maybe not. Faith wasn't exactly a sympathetic sort of person.

Getting bored with the distinctly unalchoholic drink, she set it down and leaned against the bar, glancing around at the rest of the party. She glanced over at him just in time to see the small smile, and made a comment that sounded almost off-handed.

"You know, I am going to find out what you are. That was kinda my job back home, and I was really damn good at it. It's cool, though, you don't have to admit it. Make it a challenge, that's fine by me."

She laughed at his question, as if she hadn't just dropped that bombshell, and shrugged, casual and at ease with the whole situation. Of course, that was only on the outside. Inside, she was wondering if he would suddenly turn dangerous, since she'd basically just told him she was going to find out all about him. Sometimes, that made people nervous.

"No, only the really hot ones. What's wrong, you scared? Don't worry, I won't beat you up. Not too badly, anyway."

He could tell just a bit that Faith was getting restless, at least slightly with her drink. He on the other hand nursed his almost predictably, not really too fast or too slow. He took a bite of ice cream and looked at her to see her watching him with some interest. She certainly was a strange way to spend a time at a party. Not that Clark was complaining. He'd come here half expecting that he'd have spent the whole time just watching the other people present, and despite the fact that she seemed spoiling for a fight, he was having a decent time with her. At her comment to him though, Clark did something probably not too many guys did...

Looked at her like she was crazy.

He'd long ago perfected the skeptical squint of his eyes, which made it look as if Faith had just commented that her aunt was really a flying purple people eater, something so completely ludicrous and impossible that it wasn't even funny, but rather just a bit strange. Then slowly his eyebrows raised as if slightly embarassed that someone might have heard her. Not looking around as if he was afraid for himself, rather like he was embarassed for her. Clark tried to force a smile then and let the awkward silence between them go on for a moment before saying softly, almost under his breath, but just loud enough for her to hear: "ooookay then..."

Slowly he turned back from her and started to look around the room, almost as if HE was losing interest in HER. She had seemed rather fun, but Clark was more careful of his secret than anything else. Hell, he'd let Lana think he was a jerk on more than a few occassions, just so that he could hide what the fact that he was indeed an alien from another world with super powers. His blue eyes looked at Katana again, and had she not still been talking to the pale haired boy he might have gone in her direction as rude as it was...

But Faith it seemed wasn't one to be perturbed, coming back to his statement with one of her own, half compliment, half challenge. Clark, on the other hand, didn't really look flattered by it at all. Instead he looked at her as if she might have gone crazy again and took a step back. "All joking aside, I really don't fight girls..." he said, honestly. It was a good thing Xena wasn't close enough to hear that little gem. Thankfully he'd not had the pleasure of meeting the Warrior Princess just yet.

He probably didn't realize but, but she regularly said and did things that made the more normal people around her look at her like that. It had stopped bothering her a long time ago. Someone as wild as she was, who pulled as many hare-brained stunts as she did, was pretty much immune to the 'You are completely and totally insane' look.

"Whatever you say, sexy. Hey, maybe you'll get lucky and I'll get bored before I find out. It could happen."

Her dark eyes narrowed as he spoke those words that she thought were much more insulting than the look he'd given her before. He wouldn't fight her because she was a girl? She'd killed a man, for crying out loud. She was no delicate flower. She nearly slapped him across the cheek right then and there, and a dangerous look flashed in her eyes.

"Don't say shit like that... I'm a girl, but I could kick the ass of most of the people in this room, at once probably. Don't fuck with me, farmboy."

One more dangerous look, and the seductively-clad woman turned away. She had no idea who she was talking to, of course, or that Clark probably could rip her apart with his bare hands, and quite easily. All she knew was that he was no longer interesting to her, and she was going to find something else.

"Later, unless you're very lucky."

Clark began to sweat inwardly a little as Faith seemed completely unphased by the way that he looked at her, as if she were mad. The only person he'd seen with that much interest in unraveling his secrets while not caring what was thought of her was Chloe Sullivan. And if Chloe could be his best friend and be constantly trying to get it out of him, Clark wasn't too afraid of Faith. She was a lot more seductive than Chloe though, and Clark was fairly certain that if she'd thought for a minute that pushing his buttons sexually might have gotten the truth out of him she'd have gone for it. As it was though, Clark was glad for the space she was giving him, and had a secret fear that him getting dragged back onto the dance floor was in his immediate future.

To say he was sad when Faith gave him the death glare would have only been half correct. He was sad he had to lie to her, and that she was somewhat upset by it, but she hadn't really left him a lot of choice, either, and he'd decided long ago to protect his secret at all costs. Not just for his own sake but his families sake, and he sake of those close to him. He put his mother and father in enough danger by having them know about his secret. Pete had nearly gotten killed over it, he couldn't risk sharing it with someone else and having them get hurt by the consequences, even though it meant that he didn't have close friends, and those close friends he did have didn't know the real him.

For a moment he was sure he was going to get slapped and prepared to turn his head so she didn't hurt herself when she did it, but Faith turned away at the last moment, leaving him with the half threat about her intentions as far as he was concerned. Somewhere in his head he could hear Pete's voice chastising him: 'Man Clark, only YOU could have a girl all over you one minute then make her want to kill you the next...'.

Clark waited until she was out of sight before he breathed an audible sigh of relief, and slowly took a long drink of his float... well, at least that was probably all of the major excitement for the evening... right?
