Hurricane Party!
Who: Ginny and the other residents of the resort
What: Hurricane Party!
When: Day 10, around 7 PM.
Where: The White Sands Resort Bar and Club
Rating: PG? I don't know what crazy shenanigans are going to occur.
Status: In progress.

Ginny hated being stuck indoors.

She almost literally been trying to climb the walls in her frustration when she'd decided to throw a hurricane party. She hadn't met many of the residents, and figured if there was anyone else as irritated at being stuck inside then they'd appreciate the change of scenery. It'd also give people a chance to mingle and meet. She wondered if there were others from her world here besides Tonks.

The planet had been most accomodating to her ideas. The club was currently themed for a luau, and small lanterns shed a soft glow over numerous smaller groupings of tables as well as over the dance floor and bar. She hadn't been sure what the other residents might eat, so she'd asked for a large selection of snacks. The bar was well-stocked as well. She didn't recognize all of the things stocked, but she did notice a bottle of Firewhiskey and what appeared to be butterbeer.

Now all this party needed was people. Maybe she'd get to see Max again.

Giselle had spent a wonderful afternoon with Mamoru and learned several new games. She was very pleased with the way the afternoon had gone. It was stimulating and exciting. All in all, when she went back to her room, she was grinning.

She changed her dress and had her hair put up for the party. She was even more excited about the party than she was about learning new games and she was fairly wriggling. She put on a bright indigo gown with matching slippers and stepped out of her room to head for the bar.

She was maybe a little early, but she was too excited to wait any longer. She stepped through the door and looked around, unsurprised that the only person there was a young red head. Red head! Like herself! She was a little younger than herself maybe, but not by much.

She took in the rest of the scenery, the music, the food and drinks. She tapped her foot where she stood, then headed over to the bar. She slipped up on a stool and smiled brightly as a golem headed her way.

Cassie was no stranger to parties, so when she'd heard about the hurricane party that night it had sounded absolutely perfect. Finally, something that would make her feel at home; she'd started to worry that she was surrounded by a bunch of boring old farts and she'd have to dance about in the club on her own! But it seemed that even on another planet people didn't lose their ability to throw a party; if it was good, then perhaps she'd be happier in her new home that she'd ever been in Bristol. Now, if only the planet would kidnap Sid for her, she'd be in heaven.

She headed to the bar wearing a shimmering gold dress with black footless tights, gold ballet shoes and an 80s style suit jacket, embossed with a variety of retro badges. Her enthusiasm meant that she'd arrived early, btu that didn't really matter to her. She'd never been to a luau before (in fact, she'd only just learned what a luau was on entering the room) and she planned on experiencing it to the fullest.

She made a bee-line for the bar, leaning against it and giving the woman next to her a big smile. "Wow! This is going to be so much fun!" she gushed, barely able to contain her excitement. "Vodka please, just with water and lime, thanks!" she told the golem behind the bar. She was worried enough by the calories in the vodka without adding a mixer to the situation. Well, she'd probably just end up throwing up later, so she didn't suppose it mattered much. Did calories even count on this planet? Who knew.

Giselle looked up as other patrons began to arrive. At last. A golden girl walked toward her and Giselle admired the dress. It looked fantastic on the girl. She grinned as said girl leaned against the bar next to her and smiled. She nodded enthusiastically at the comment. "I think it's lovely!" She gushed as well.

She heard the girl's order and watched the golem prepare it. She wasn't all that familiar with alcoholic drinks, and the one in front of her was only a Shirley Temple. She hadn't been in New York long enough to find out what alcohol did to people. So she was sure in for a shock.

She turned to the blond girl and spoke. "I'm Giselle! What's your name?" Her blue eyes were wide, happy to be meeting new people and experiencing a party for the first time in this strange new land.

"Wow, I know, I've never been to a luau before!" she admitted, hopping up onto a bar stool. "It's so pretty," she said, pressing her lips together and looking around the room. She had spotted the food on the tables, but fortunately it was all very neatly arranged. "Look at all the lovely food..." she said softly. Of course, she wouldn't touch any of it, but she enjoyed looking at it all nicely set out.

"I'm Cassie!" she said, not lying as she had done in the games room. She felt more at home in these surroundings, and so her real name came naturally to her.

"Me, either. Is that what this is?" She glanced around as well, and her gaze landed on the food table at the same time as Cassie's. It was very prettily arranged and it all looked delicious. "It does look lovely, doesn't it? Would you like some?" Giselle hopped off her stool and skipped to the table.

She scanned it for something that she wanted and put some strawberries and pineapple on one plate, then a mini eclair and fruit tart on another. She skipped back with them and put them on the bar between them. "Eat!" Giselle commanded cheerily. In her opinion, Cassie was far too thin, but she didn't say that.

"Cassie! What a beautiful name. It suits you." She grinned and hopped back on her stool to pick up her virgin drink. She took a sip of the carbonated liquid and scrunched her nose. It was good, but different than anything she'd had before.

"Yeah, I'd never even heard the word before. I think it must mean sort of Hawaiian or something," she suggested. "Oh, no, I..." she stopped short, biting her lip anxiously as Giselle went to collect her some food.

She gave her a wary look as she placed a plate in front of her, commanding her to eat. There was something about her tone that reminded her of Alan, her kindly rehab driver.... but it was also a stark reminder of her own psychotic episode, where she had been certain Sid was demanding that she ate. "Oh, no... I mustn't eat it. Just... arrange it," she said a little dreamily, reaching out to sort the items on the plate into a logical order.

"Thanks. It's Cassandra really, but no one really calls me that except my parents. So I feel like I'm in trouble when someone calls me that," she smiled. "Giselle's a pretty name, too. Like the supermodel."

She raised a strawberry eyebrow and watched as Cassie arranged the food rather than ate it. She didn't understand what she was doing, or why. Sure, it was prettier the way she arranged it on the plate, but it was meant to be eaten. Well, if Cassie wasn't going to eat it, Giselle certainly was. She plucked a piece of pineapple off the plate and popped it in her mouth.

It was juicy, sweet and tart at the same time. It was wonderful and her eyes widened to reflect her pleasure. She also groaned as she swallowed. Smacking her lips she grinned and looked around. She saw that several people had trickled in while she'd been oblivious. She saw the Doctor and waved at him, though he didn't seem to see her. She didn't recognize many others.

"What's a supermodel?" She tilted her head, her red locks spilling over one shoulder. Leaning her elbow on the bar, she took a drink of her Shirley Temple and glanced over the golden girl beside her. "How long have you been in Mirage, Cassie?"

Cassie pushed the plate away - she knew she was going to have to eat eventually, but she knew that once she started it was probably going to turn into a disgusting binge. She'd rather order room service and take her time convincing herself to take the first bite. Either that, or maybe the planet had some amazing calorie free food considering it wanted to satisfy her every need... but she supposed that wouldn't have the same sense of power and control to it.

Now it was Cassie's turn to raise an eyebrow. "Oh, it's like a model, but like really, really gorgeous instead of just gorgeous. You know, like they are in designer fashion shows and magazines, and some of them advertise makeup and stuff," she tried to explain. "Where are you from that doesn't have supermodels?" she asked.

"Oh, a few days. I spent the first couple in my room, really. But I think I like it, now," she explained, taking a swig of her drink. "How about you?"

Giselle listened to the description of a supermodel and while she was still confused by designer fashion shows and advertising makeup, she nodded. She got the gist of the idea, and that was all that mattered. She had seen billboards in New York with people on them that were really, really gorgeous. Perhaps that was what she meant.

She put another piece of pineapple in her mouth, chewed and swallowed before she answered her question. "I'm from Andalasia. But no one I've met so far has ever heard of it. More recently I'm from New York, but I wasn't there very long, either." She spoke wistfully. She'd wanted to stay in New York with Robert and Morgan. Still, she was just as happy here.

She nodded at Cassie's answer to her length of time in Mirage and toyed with a strawberry as she returned her own answer. "I've been here longer than anyone. "Seventeen days, I think." She really had to think about it, but she knew it had been over two weeks. She couldn't believe she'd been here that long already.

"I like it here, too. I miss my friends, but I meet new ones all the time." She grinned and de-stemmed the strawberry before she took a bite of it and then washed it down with a swig of her Shirley Temple.

Cassie tried to think back to her geography classes, but then shook her head slowly. "No, I've never heard of it either. I've heard of New York, though, obviously. I'd love to go to New York. All the bright lights and the yellow taxis, it looks so wonderfully exciting!" she gushed; to Cassie, New York was just like an amusement arcade. If she went there, nothing would matter, and she'd have complete anonymity - it would be no man's land for her. "I'm from Bristol," she said, scrunching up her nose a little. "It's cool, sometimes. My parents were moving us to this place called Elgin, so I don't suppose being here is too much different anyway," she suggested; it wasn't as if she spent a lot of time with her parents, so really moving to Mirage was not all that different. Except that she wasn't able to email her friends.

"I miss my friends, too. Mirage would be just perfect if a few of my friends could come, too. Or if I could at least call them, you know?" she sighed, knocking back her vodka. She shrugged a little, and tucked her hair behind her ears. "I suppose you're right about making new friends, though," she agreed.

Giselle didn't think she would have heard of it, but it would have been amazing if she had. She would have been the only one. "New York is very exciting! I've never been somewhere so crowded and full of life." She gushed. She had really liked New York, all except for having her beautiful tiara stolen by that rotten old man.

"Bristol?" She could tell by the girl's accent that she was from England, but she hadn't heard of Bristol or Elgin. "Are those places in England?" She propped her head up on her hand as she listened to her talk about her friends. She nodded. "Yes, I would love to hear Robert or Morgan's voice again." She sighed wistfully and began to push the food around on the plates the way Cassie had done before.

"Making new friends is fun. The people here are really nice. At least the ones I've met are. Have you met anyone interesting yet?" She finished her Shirley Temple and the golem brought another one by, setting it front of her as he took her empty glass.

"Oh, wow, yeah. About the best I've got so far is Brighton. It was fun, but... I really want to see more of the world. I want to go to Japan and take pictures of all the lovely sushi," she explained, overly excited by the thought.

"Yeah, well, Bristol's in England, Elgin is in Scotland," she explained, running her index finger around the rim of her glass thoughtfully. "Is Robert your boyfriend?" she asked, with a sort of sad smile.

"Well, when I woke up here this girl sort of fell out of the sky. Bella, her name was. She comes from this place called Forks, isn't that a weird name for a place?!" she asked, giggling slightly at the memory. "And then I met a Welsh woman called Gwen in the games room..." she added, letting her eyes gaze over the room as she tried to pick either of them out. "I don't think they're here, though. Do you know anyone here?" she asked.

She finished her drink, and grinned widely as the golem replaced her drink as well. "Free bar, this is amazing. What are you drinking, anyway?" she asked.

"I played video games with a man from Japan today. Mamoru. I bet he could tell you all about sushi." She wasn't exactly sure what sushi was, but she was pretty sure Mamoru would know. "Do you like to take pictures?" Giselle tilted her red head, resting it on one of her upturned hands.

"Oh!" She giggled as she was explained the location of the places Cassie was speaking of. "Robert?" She laughed softly. "No, I was going to marry Prince Edward, but Robert was letting me stay in his apartment until Edward came for me." She smiled. She had been in the middle of changing her affections from Edward to Robert when she'd been sucked here.

"Forks? Why would someone name a place after an eating utensil?" She was quite stumped and it showed in her furrowed brow. But she shrugged and grinned. She looked around to see if she could spot anyone she knew after Cassie asked her. She hadn't even thought to look. "Let's see...Ayla, Legolas, Katara, Max and the Doctor." She pointed them out and then began to explain a little about each one. "Ayla is a medicine woman. I think she comes from a long time ago, when they lived in caves."

She nodded emphatically before moving on. "Legolas is a Prince in his land, some place called Middle Earth. He has a lovely singing voice!" She crowed softly, then moved on. "Katara is a beautiful girl. And she's very helpful and good at bowling!" Grinning she pointed out Max. "I met Max when he arrived. He can heal things instantly! He touched a bird with a broken wing and it flew away!" She was still astounded by that, especially since she loved wildlife. "And the Doctor, he's such a lovely man. He has taught me about art in the gallery and he taught me how to play some board games yesterday!"

She looked down at her drink when she was finished and inspected it for a moment. "A Shirley Temple, though I don't know why it is called that. I think it is some sort of bubbly drink with cherry flavoring. It's quite good, would you like to try it?" She picked it up and held it out to her.

"Oh, wow! That's fantastic," she gushed, quite serious in her enthusiasm about the Japanese man. "Yeah, I like to take pictures, especially of food," she explained, pointing to the plate she had already arranged. "I love food," she admitted, although it really didn't explain her relationship with food at all well to a stranger.

Cassie's eyes grew wide, and she tilted her head to one side in surprise. "You were going to marry a Prince?" she asked, her voice getting a little high with amazement. "Oh, wow, so you're like practically a princess?" she suggested.

"I don't know, she didn't seem to think it was at all weird, but it really is," she laughed softly, rather easily amused by the name. She let her gaze wander to each of the people that Giselle pointed out to her, her expression going through varying stages of awe and amusement for each person. "Oh wow, you've met so many people!" she exclaimed, glad she had asked. "And they all seem so lovely!"

"A Shirley Temple?" she repeated, an eyebrow quirking in surprise. "No, no... I have a better idea. How about I get you a proper drink?" she asked; she was a bad influence, but what sort of party was it going to be with people sipping Shirley Temple's all night?

Giselle found it odd that the girl claimed to love food, but only liked to touch and arrange it, rather than actually consume it. She was confused, but she didn't let on. She merely nodded and moved with the subject changes.

Giselle nodded with a grin. "Yes, I very nearly was. But I probably won't be now." She had decided that she didn't really love Edward, even though he was a prince. She loved Robert.

"I've been here a long time. I was bound to run into some at least. They all have been quite lovely. I haven't met anyone I haven't liked." But that wasn't saying much, unless someone was outright rude to her, she generally liked everyone.

Giselle shrugged. "Sure. I like to try new things." Giselle had never been drunk, she didn't even know what alcohol did to the senses. She just wanted to have fun with her new friend and enjoy the party.

"Oh, yeah," she said with a sort of sad sigh. It was funny how the planet just had no regard for the plans people might have had for their own life. It wasn't something that really affected Cassie too terribly, but it seemed like something like Giselle's situation might have had a global significance. "Shame, you'd have been like a fairy-tale princess. nothing like actual princesses," she suggested. "With the exception of Diana, maybe," she added after a beat.

"Really? Oh, wow, that's good! Everyone seems just lovely!" she gushed. At least she wasn't trapped with a bunch of assholes.

"Excellent!" she squeaked, leaning over the bar and motioning for a golem. "Do you make cocktails? Maybe sex on the beach? It works with the theme," she told him, and he quickly moved off to make their drinks.

"Don't worry, it's not as rude as it sounds. If you like sweet things like that, you should enjoy it," she grinned widely.

Giselle grinned and nodded as she spoke with Cassie. She found the girl delightful and fun to talk to. Although, when Cassie ordered the drink for Giselle she had to lift a brow. That is, until she explained that it wasn't as rude as it sounded. She giggled, then.

Reaching for the drink once the golem had made it and brought it over, she took a sip. It was really sweet, but there was an underlying bite that didn't agree with her. It was very strange and not altogether pleasant. She took another sip, wondering if it would taste the same. It did. But she was warming to it.

A few gulps later, and she'd finished the cocktail. And since she'd only eaten some fruit that night, it basically went right into her bloodstream. She felt very ill not long after finishing the drink and decided that she needed to leave before she was sick all over the bar. "Uh, I'm not feeling so good. I should go. Lovely to meet you, Cassie." She put a hand over her mouth and ran for the door.
