Wonderland Event!

In an effort to continue the rehabilitation and self-discovery that the mandatory therapy sessions are bringing to the table, the Engineers, by way of the Wardens, have decided to give the inmates a little nudge on the way in the form of a… tea party! Perfectly innocent, right? They provide free food and drink every single day, surely there's nothing different about this?

Only, there is. Of course there is.

Come the morning of Day 244 (November 4th), the inmates will find that picnics have been set up at many locations in the dome. The food carts in Sector 0, here and there in the parks, even at the beach! The robot-run food establishments also have a lavish table set up with fine china and a wide-variety of dainty nibbles — anything you could find at an afternoon tea party from cakes to sandwiches and cookies, with a side of tea, juice or lemonade. These nibbles have been laced with various, odorless, tasteless and colorless chemicals designed to bring forth different, specific effects. They want you to explore all those dark crevasses of your souls, after all. How can you know who you are if you never give in to the rarer urges?

Of course, few things go according to plan. These chemicals can reach the desired effect, but there's also the chance that they'll bring forth less intentional results. Individual differences in biological setup, chemical reactions with the coffee you had for breakfast, perhaps you had the sun in your eyes when you tasted it. Whatever it is, in some cases things may go a little further than what might be considered totally necessary or helpful to your rehabilitation. At least it won't be boring?

What if I want to eat/drink more than one thing?
Stacking the effects is perfectly okay! Naturally, some things work better together than others but it's up to you how you want to mix and match the options.

How long does it last?
The chemicals will be completely cleared out of their systems by Day 245. Other than that you're free to have them last as long or short as you please — perhaps all day, or perhaps a few hours if you want them unaffected for part of the day or want them to try a different effect entirely.

Can my character notice something is wrong?
They most certainly can! Some effects will even be hard to miss! In some instances (like the mood-altering effects) there may not be a clear causal connection between the weirdness and the tea party, so if you want them to remain blissfully ignorant about what's going on that is still very much possible. Please no open network posts specifically warning people to avoid the picnics until a couple of days (IC hours) have passed though!

Can my character notice a theme?
If it's IC of them to know Alice in Wonderland and to put the various clues together, it's totally okay. One of your engineers has taken an interest in human literature after all.

My character is special and would taste/smell/notice the chemical/not be affected!
Doesn't stop the Wardens from figuring out a way around their specialness! The chemical is completely undetectable and made to suit every individual inmates' biological (or mechanical) setup. Being special does not mean you can't participate in the event should you want to!

Opt out?
Just don't have your character eat or drink anything from any of the tea parties! None of the other food, drink or air is affected in any way by the chemical.
