[The Russian accent was more of a strike for her. The first husband had one and she loved him very much and he accidentally murdered her. Not the fault of everyone with a Russian accent, but she doesn't hear it that much so there is some reminding or there was. She's gotten past that stage months back.]

I read things. I was craving some string theory. You know how it is. What about you?

[ Well Kirk thought it was adorable. Even when Chekov had to repeat codes because the computer couldn't understand him. ]

Oh, you know, thought I might go for a rom com. A nice break from particle physics.

Huh. You know it hasn't really occurred to me to read anything just for fun in a long time. [She does ENJOY reading about science and practicing languages but it's not the same. It's like a healthy, but delicious fancy dinner instead of a bag of cheetos and carton of ice cream.]

'Fun' for me usually consists of history, but considering the array of worlds and dimensions present here, I had hoped to find stories from those worlds and read those. There's lots to be learned in the fairy tales of other worlds.

[ He gave a shrug as he glanced up at the library's stacks. ]

I figure a little break from my usual is good for my brain anyways.

Couldn't hurt. Well, here maybe they could find a way, but probably not. You know about today, right?

[ He sighed. ]

Yeah, I know. It seems a... weird past time for the wardens to engage in.

A former inmate started it, but their dark sense of humor kept it going every couple of months.

Well, that makes more sense, I guess.

[ He sighed, shaking his head. ]

And here all I wanted was a nice reading day. At least it seems like no one cares to much about the things. They certainly haven't stopped you from coming out.

Eh, if I stopped going out for every little thing... I just don't like [being alone] staying inside.

And I think the degree of caring usually depends a little on who you get caught with. I do feel vaguely insulted when there's a lot of horror and whining about it. But I get that being forced to do anything sucks.

I enjoy kissing, quite a bit, but even I feel a bit disgruntled over having to kiss someone because I must. It loses the romance, the charm!

[ He shook his head, and naturally, this is the queue for a quiet hum to disrupt the quiet of the library and before he can jump back, it's to late. The barrier is down and he is shoved several inches closer to Kitty right off. ]

And speak of the devil...

[She glances up and then back to Kirk.] If it helps, there probably wasn't going to be a lot of romance with my boyfriend's boss anyway.

Good, because that would make us one of those trite love triangles from those dime a dozen romance novels, and no one needs that kind of drama in this prison.

[ He sighed before taking the final step closer to her, touching her high on her waist with the tips of his fingers and leaning in to kiss her as their captor demanded. ]

Pretty sure we already have some happening too. We wouldn't even been be original. [There may not be a lot of romance, but she still meets the kiss like a kiss and not an obligation. She figures that's the better way to treat people and she knows it never feels great to be kissed with disdain even when she understands it's not directed at her.]

God forbid.

[ Well, at least she was taking this in stride and not letting it be awkward. He had come to the conclusion that if he had to do this, he was damn well going to do it right.

He pressed against her lips, tongue brushing gently across the lower curve to ask for more. His luck today had seemed to call for that, and he would prefer to get this done right the first time rather than have to repeat. Not that there was anything wrong with kissing Kitty, of course. But the bots sort of dampened the enjoyment. ]

[Her lips part for him, maybe more than the bots actually need, but sometimes they do require more and honestly she's not putting that much thought into it. She's just kissing and being kissed and letting it take it's natural course as long as nothing feels wrong and so far it feels pretty right.]

[ He couldn't deny it felt nice kissing Kitty - she was a pretty woman, confident and strong, and he appreciated those qualities in a woman. That she was Chekov's girlfriend did not stop him from appreciating those qualities and finding them attractive.

He kept his hands high as they kissed. He might be slipping his tongue against Kitty's, but he wasn't going to take more liberties than necessary. They're rewarded with a victorious chirp and confetti in their hair, Kirk pulling back and shaking it out of his fluff. ]

I'm going to have this stuff falling out of places for a month like sparkles.

[She pulls back when he does. Luckily for her she doesn't blush easily, or she might have been flushed. The kiss did not suck. These mistletoe bot days might be almost routine for her by now, but there's nothing routine about a kiss. It's always at least a little intimate no matter how much you don't want to think of it that way if you're with someone else. It comes with a side of vulnerability and a dash of sharing. And when it's good—like this one—that memory lingers.]

I wish I could tell you that you're wrong, but it always feels like I've seen the last of it right before they strike again.

[ He would hope it did not suck. He had a reputation, after all - though he would forgive you saying Chekov was better, given the circumstances. ]

I suppose it'll be like a game. You win a prize every time you find a new one in some strange place.
