Princ...ess....?

[Eyes growing impossibly wide he remains frozen. The shock of the scene nearly too much to process. Only it does. The horrific image builds within his mind and his fragile control shatters. Head shaking in blind panic he pulls back, only to watch as her lifeless body crumples to the ground.

No...

Glancing down to his hands, he stares at the thick blood that decorates his claw. Her blood. Jae-Ha's blood. The hollow, stark terror that captures hold of his heart petrifies him. Unable to breathe his throat tightens and he can no longer swallow.

The princess is dead. It's all his fault.

He jerks backwards and stands, scrambling back from her lifeless body, before his foot backs into something else. He turns to the side, and crumbled like a child's discarded toy at his feet is Zeno. Hak, Yoon, and Shin-Ah lay nearby. Their eyes glassy they stare unblinkingly ahead, faces twisted into agony and betrayal.

Every single one of them is dead.

A terrified cry tears past his lips before his hands lift and he covers his mouth. Why has this happened? How...? The question goes unanswered, merely the dead bodies of his dearest friends the proof of his nightmare reality. Fat tears stream thick down his cheeks and blind his vision. It's his greatest fears realized. Everyone is really gone.

His feet can't seem to work anymore. Rooted to the spot he's unable to move. There, surrounded by his dead companions, he stands in a field of death. Paralyzed, there's no control. Devastated he's unable to hold back the spasmodic trembling that visibly wracks his body.
