DAY 365 — Anniversary Festival Mingle

Happy Day 365, Marina Nova!

Hear ye, hear ye! Inmates, prisoners, fellow underwater dwellers! Lend me your ears and hands and actually just bring all of you because we're having a ye olde Renaissance Faire to celebrate a full year in this bubble under the sea!

The dome has of course been decked out appropriately. Flickering torches light the pathways, interspersed with larger bonfires that you can cosy up to with that special someone - or perhaps just a glass of honey mead. Pennant banners hang across the gates and along the buildings, sporting the proud coat of arms of the prison (a lot of purple and octopi, for some reason) and many of the clothing stores offer time-appropriate options for those of you who still knows how to have fun. The kiosk has even been re-imagined into a castle.

Many areas within the dome has activities to partake in and, if you're skilled or lucky or both, prizes to win!

Sector 5 Gamegrounds: What better way to show your bravery than by participating in a series of tests of strength and cunning? Sector 5 provides the inmates with a chance to try such varied sports as varpa, caber tossing, ring toss or the very dignified sport of rövkrok, a type of wrestling that requires skill as well as no sense of shame. Not tough enough for you? There are also friendly foam weapons and armor available for those who want to engage in a chivalrous bout of hand to hand combat, test your archery skills — or maybe convince another prisoner to give you a piggyback ride and go jousting!

Competitors that do well enough and show outstanding bravery may be rewarded with a handful of rehab points, or a personalized pennant — or maybe a kiss from the lord or lady of your choosing!

Less violent activities: Not into skewering your neighbors on spears? Maybe you'd rather relax with a game of knucklebones, pick up sticks or Nine Men's Morris. Boards and instructions are readily available in several areas. If you're more creatively inclined there's also activity tables on offer where you can create your own coat of arms, bind yourself a flower crown or learn the art of illumination.

Food: The food carts in sector 0 are now carrying food fit for the occasion. Whole roasted pigs and poultry, wild rabbit in plum sauce, thick beef stews smelling of rich saffron, roasted vegetables (no potatoes here, no sir!) and cream-stewed cabbage for the vegetarians among us. If you're still hungry there's saffron pancake, ginger and clove cookies or bread pudding with raisins for dessert. There's plenty of mulled wine, honey mead, foaming beer, honeyd applewater and lingonberry juice to wash it down with. Enjoy!

Dance: As is custom, there will be a dance at the beach at the end of the day. Great fires will roar and a band of robots will strike up music suitable for dancing! Dress up in your finest satin and velvet, brush the extrement off your shoes and grab a partner!

I don't know what they did. But that-- whatever that is doesn't have to do with the fact that I wont tolerate someone hurting children. That's absolutely repulsive, and the single most disgusting thing a person could ever do.

I'll remove vampires that do reprehensible things against others. I'll be the Grim Reaper if I have to be. But I don't want to be that. Don't give me a reason to be, Spike. For all of how difficult I thought you could be, I really didn't expect something like that to come out of your mouth. It's so frustratingly wrong, that I shouldn't even have to be saying this!

[She's hardly sunshine, no matter what Zero claims otherwise. She hardly has so much of a high opinion of herself. And somehow each time he calls her princess grates on her very nerves. This time her own fingers ball into fists.]

Well maybe if someone would stop acting like a child, I wouldn't have to scold! [This is where her own temper flares, losing control of it.] And if you would just explain things clearly from the start instead of acting all cool and vague then I wouldn't have to lecture to begin with! Especially when you make remarks that are bound to draw attention to them!

[The blood splattered on the ground forces her to swallow and for only a moment her eyes swirl a little darker, a bit more crimson than normal, which only frustrates her all the more.

He can almost hear the sing-song tone of Dru's voice and wouldn't she have a goddamn ball with this? Should've known better than to strike up conversation with the resident latter day saint of vampires, a fucking disgrace if she'd come from his world and although he can begrudgingly chalk it up to cultural differences she doesn't seem as keen to. ]

When he moves as though he might push into her, however, she side steps. Although it earns another scything glare. As much as she hates to admit it, if someone here actually likes to eat children and can talk about it so casually, than maybe there is someone here who deserves their life sentence.

It's not the kind of thing she thinks of lightly. She'll certainly keep an eye out for him in the future, though. Whatever he might think of her, she doesn't care. If she has to hunt down her very own brother at home for even less, then she's hardly so forgiving with someone else. Not when her heart and mind are aching and dealing with so much elsewhere.

Rather than retort, her glare lingers a moment more before she moves along. Only now she's in a much worse mood than she had been earlier.]
