Day 331 (strange relations) / Open Video / Picnic Mingle
[Have Euphie's smiling face on the screen. Kanji and I would like to invite you all to a picnic today! Of course we want to see all our family there, but friends and soon-to-be friends too. [That means strangers.]

You don't have to worry about bringing anything, but if you'd like to bring something extra to share or a game that would be fun or even just an extra blanket just in case that would always be welcome.

We'll be in Trois Park near the koi pond and fountain at noon today.

[There will already be some blankets laid out and pink picnic baskets with a variety of food—many of which have been prepared in extra cute ways like rice balls shaped like cats. You probably think this was mostly Euphie's doing, but it was mostly that boyfriend of hers, Kanji.]

[Nathan shouldn't be here. He knows he's not in a good frame of mind and that seeing Euphie with her boyfriend that she didn't have yesterday is only going to make everything worse, but he can't make himself stay away.

He can't let Euphie see him, either. To that end, the teenager stays on the outskirts of the park, watching Euphie and maneuvering himself out of her line of sight whenever she moves. Everyone else is largely ignored. Stalking the person you thought was your girlfriend takes a lot of concentration, okay?]

[Some memory rearrangement happening for Kitty today. Being married to Jack is the big one. Not remembering any bad break-ups with Reid is another. She still sees Nathan as someone she cares about and looks after, but she probably never lived with him, right?]

Are you hunting something? [She wishes she could just say that with a teasing tone, but all things considered...seriously, are you hunting something? And by something she fears someone.]

[He jumps when she sneaks up on him. Except she didn't really sneak, he was just really busy watching that Kanji person feel Euphie up. He isn't jealous, exactly, since he's afraid to do any feeling-up himself, but he's angry and hurt and confused and probably doing a poor job of looking like he wasn't being creepy.]

Where were you? [This morning, since she wasn't at the apartment. It doesn't occur to him that it's strange that he lives with Kitty and not, you know... his mom. That's just the way it is.]
