Event: Strange Relations
By now, we're sure a lot of you inmates have made little families of your own here in prison. Romantic relationships, adopted children or parents, friends you consider as close as siblings... maybe you're even lucky enough to have some blood relatives here with you!

For the day of 331, you might just find yourself with more relatives than you had going to bed the night before.

What's happening?

Whether it's a malfunction or just the wardens trying something new, the interpersonal relationships of the dome are being messed with. Siblings, spouses, perhaps an estranged father or beloved aunt — your character may wake with memories of any of these. To them, things have always been this way. Maybe they've only exchanged pleasantries in the grocery store before but today, that shallow acquaintance has always been a cherished family member.

Of course, this doesn't mean that anyone else's memories of this particular relation have been altered. You might remember that person as your father, but that doesn't mean he does — and even if he does, the rest of the dome probably won't!

What kind of relationships can we do?

Whatever you feel like! Spouses, siblings, parents, uncles and aunts, whatever you feel like! If you want to pair up and play a married couple for this event, go ahead! If you want to play through the confusion of being accused of siblinghood when you're sure you're an only child, that's great! The nature of the relationship can also range from loving and amiable to estranged or even bitter rivalries!

Plot with each other and have fun!

Punishments?

For the duration of the event, the sex restrictions will see some leniance. After all, the wardens can't play matchmaker with people and expect the sudden spouses to not take advantage of their marital rights!

Opt out?

If you're unable to play during this event or just wants to watch the family reunion burn, it's easy enough to assume that your character remained unaffected. No hard feelings!

There is so many ways we can play with Yuuri and Conrad out for this event. How about we have them clashing memories? It'd be funny to have one believing a relationship and the other believing another.

I don't mind having Conrad believe he is Yuuri's actual father for a day. Just remove the god in father. Or! Conrad can believe Yuuri replace Stoffel for the angst. Or or or! They could be complete strangers, yet they feel oddly comfortable around each other whenever they talk. I don't know. There are many sides we can explore with this.

Right now I'm wandering if I can get either Euphie or Liv to replace Gwendal. Aigis already replaced Wolfram for Conrad.

I would be happy to do something. I'm not sure what you mean when you mention replacing people though. It's not a personality swapping event. It just affects how people relate to one another, so Euphie and Liv could never be Conrad's stern older brother with a weakness for cute things. One of them could be a sister to him, but they would still have their own personality which in either case would be very, very, very different from Gwendal and different from Gwendal's role in Conrad's life.

If that doesn't change your interest, then I'd be happy for Euphie to be his sister.

As for Conrad and Yuuri, maybe they think Yuuri is Conrad's squire/underling. Something random that changes their dynamic. Or we could do the strangers thing if you prefer. Or maybe a one-sided one where Yuuri remembers the actual relationship but Conrad is thinking something else?

(Though I'd rather stay away from father since Yuuri and the former Conrad exchanged admissions of having romantic feelings for each other. It's something Yuuri had already decided not to act on and I wasn't going to have him bring up with your Conrad, but still kind of makes the father thing weird.)

Oh, I'm sorry. I was only kidding about the Gwendal thing. I guess it didn't sound like one, huh? Anyway. Yes, Euphie as Conrad's sister would be cute to play out, not going to lie. Although having Liv as a relative would be cool, but I don't want Conrad to learn about her being a zombie yet. Hm.

Whoooa. I did not know this and now I feel bad for having suggested that. No, no. Let's strike the dad idea. It's gone! I do like the idea of memory clashes though. It sounds like fun. Maybe we can play with the squire/underling one being one sided from either side.

Don't feel bad! I probably should have mentioned it sooner. No way you could have known (without reading an excessive amount of really old threads that are probably on the other comm.)

Do you have a preference on which of them should have the one-sided thing going? I could go either way.

Also, Yuuri will be dating Nico for this event.

And let's just go Euphie for sister then. Liv is already going to be Carol's daughter.

Okay, so, when I saw you both respond here like this I really wanted to suggest Kitty/Ianto/Jack threesome of love, but I see that Ianto and Spike are getting their marriage on, so... >_>

Kitty and Jack as a couple of some kind maybe? I should probably be telling myself no to this, but...I see an event like this and of course I want to try some alternate shipping. It's how I'm wired.

I am open to other things and other characters too though!

Heh, she wanted both of them? Greedy Kitty! :-D

I have to admit Kitty was pretty much my first thought for a wife for Jack. They already have a lot of chemistry and I'm sure things would have happened if it hadn't been for the other circumstances, so it would be really interesting to play with that. :-)

So far, Jack's also got Chuck as a sister and Kanji as a son (though that's going to be from Jack's side only), just so you've got the context!
