294 // beach mingle
[ Camping out on the beach is fun, right? Sleeping under the stars, lulled to sleep by the lapping of the waves and the rustling in the palm fronds. This isn't a refugee camp, this is a resort!

Several larger tents have been prepared on the beach. If this isn't enough there's a bunch of smaller ones ready to be set up, along with the permanent beach huts if tents aren't your thing. The makings of hot dogs and s'mores are available by the fire pits and if you have additional dietary desires, the convenience store isn't far away!

Enjoy! ]

(( ooc: Event information HERE! Please remember that if your character does not spend the night on the beach, they'll be forced to camp out on a park bench or in a coffee shop. The apartment buildings are off limits until next dayweek. ))

[She grins and nods.]

And if you don't want to read dragon stories or that sort of thing, there's other stuff too. LIke... realistic fiction. And a whole bunch of nonfiction if you want that.

Well, considering my world is fiction to a lot of people, I'll take about anything.

Isn't everybody's though?

I guess that is true. Your's is fiction to me.

And yours too sounds like a story.

Maybe we should we write it down. Might make a good fiction story in someone else's world.

... That's... not a bad idea. How are you at writing?

I've never tried except for school but I could give it a shot. Maybe read some books first.

Neither have I. Always read the stories or acted them out instead. Still... there's lots of time here.

Yeah, there is. That means there is time to practice this.

[Sarah nods. She looks back to the drawing she had been working on and adds some finishing touches before turning it towards him.]

What do you think?

[He studies it for a long moment when she turned the picture to him. He hadn't had someone draw his picture before]

I like it. You're good at drawing.

Thank you! [She's blushing. It always surprises her when people say nice things to her.]

Do you want to keep it?

Oh... sure. If you want to give it to me.

Yeah... OK.

[She carefully rips the page out of her sketchbook.]

Her. Just be careful not to smudge it. Charcoal's kind of messy.

Oh... okay. I'll do my best not too.

[And he's holding it so he's no where near touching the art. After a moment, a faint smile crosses his face]

I've never had a drawing of myself before.

Well now you do!

I don't have anywhere to really keep all these. I mean, I could take another room for my drawings, but it seems smarter to just give them to people if they want them.

I suppose that is the problem with drawing. They just accumulate.

Thanks.

You're welcome.

[Sarah lapses into silence then. It's not awkward on her end, though she doesn't know about Carl. She's content to just sit there though.]

[It's not awkward for Carl either. In fact, he will go about his sand drawing again after carefully setting her drawing down and be content just to sit there with her]
