294 // beach mingle
[ Camping out on the beach is fun, right? Sleeping under the stars, lulled to sleep by the lapping of the waves and the rustling in the palm fronds. This isn't a refugee camp, this is a resort!

Several larger tents have been prepared on the beach. If this isn't enough there's a bunch of smaller ones ready to be set up, along with the permanent beach huts if tents aren't your thing. The makings of hot dogs and s'mores are available by the fire pits and if you have additional dietary desires, the convenience store isn't far away!

Enjoy! ]

(( ooc: Event information HERE! Please remember that if your character does not spend the night on the beach, they'll be forced to camp out on a park bench or in a coffee shop. The apartment buildings are off limits until next dayweek. ))

[Sarah nods. He has a nice smile, even it if is small. She works to incorporate it into the drawing.]

[He watches for another moment before turning back to his drawing in the sand. It's not much really. No where as good as her's]

Have you always liked drawing?

I didn't know I could until I joined here. I did more reading. And acting. By myself. In the park back home.

What did you read? Anything in particular?

EVERYTHING. King Arthur and all the Grimm fairytales. I really liked Tolkein. Shakespeare could be fun too.

Sounds like an interesting collection. I probably should have read more, but it's not going to happen... at least back home.

Well, you have time here. There's a big library with all sorts of books.

I guess I'll have to see what is there then. I hadn't even checked yet.

[He was too busy wit other things he could do here that he couldn't back home]

Well, I hope you do. It's HUGE! I've never been in a library that big before. The one back home is... it's OK enough, but it's not like this. And the things they have!

[Sarah is clearly a bookworm.]

[Clearly she is. And he relents]

Okay, maybe I'll have to go look sometime.

[She grins and nods.]

And if you don't want to read dragon stories or that sort of thing, there's other stuff too. LIke... realistic fiction. And a whole bunch of nonfiction if you want that.

Well, considering my world is fiction to a lot of people, I'll take about anything.

I guess that is true. Your's is fiction to me.

Maybe we should we write it down. Might make a good fiction story in someone else's world.

I've never tried except for school but I could give it a shot. Maybe read some books first.

Neither have I. Always read the stories or acted them out instead. Still... there's lots of time here.

What do you think?

[He studies it for a long moment when she turned the picture to him. He hadn't had someone draw his picture before]

I like it. You're good at drawing.

Do you want to keep it?

Yeah... OK.

[She carefully rips the page out of her sketchbook.]

Her. Just be careful not to smudge it. Charcoal's kind of messy.
