294 // beach mingle
[ Camping out on the beach is fun, right? Sleeping under the stars, lulled to sleep by the lapping of the waves and the rustling in the palm fronds. This isn't a refugee camp, this is a resort!

Several larger tents have been prepared on the beach. If this isn't enough there's a bunch of smaller ones ready to be set up, along with the permanent beach huts if tents aren't your thing. The makings of hot dogs and s'mores are available by the fire pits and if you have additional dietary desires, the convenience store isn't far away!

Enjoy! ]

(( ooc: Event information HERE! Please remember that if your character does not spend the night on the beach, they'll be forced to camp out on a park bench or in a coffee shop. The apartment buildings are off limits until next dayweek. ))

[ Data is one of the few people he actually doesn't mind talking to right now. It beats empaths, that's for sure. ]

Data. [ Wry little smile. ] Still in one piece and mostly dried up. How about you? It's been a while.

It has.

[ He gives a small, quiet nod. He's had a lot to process in the past few days, and has too much mental bandwith for the storm to be entirely distracting. But he doubts that he's alone in that. ]

My systems have managed to avoid becoming waterlogged. [ Said humorously, but it's true, and could have been a valid concern. Overall, his following statement is also true - ] I am... well.

[ They seem to be on the same page with this. A lot to process and too many distractions to get all that far with it. ]

That's about as well as we can hope for around here, isn't it?

At the moment, it would seem to be our foremost concern.

[ He then tilts his head, thoughtfully. ]

Though, I must admit, I found the storm itself to be a most curious occurrence.

[ Oh yay, a neutral topic of conversation! ]

Agreed — we've had strange weather before but nothing quite like that. There's always been a sense of control to it, but there was nothing controlled about that storm.

[ He has the impression that would likely be preferable. Helps that he's curious and concerned, too. ]

It did appear readily apparent that certain systems were not operating within their established parameters, though it is the precise nature of the failure, and the systems it involved, which concerns me - of which we cannot be certain without comprehensive knowledge of the nature of our imprisonment.

And as long as we can't even tell if this is real or not... [ Hn. ] We should make some headway with that project, as soon as they let us back into the apartments.
