294 // beach mingle
[ Camping out on the beach is fun, right? Sleeping under the stars, lulled to sleep by the lapping of the waves and the rustling in the palm fronds. This isn't a refugee camp, this is a resort!

Several larger tents have been prepared on the beach. If this isn't enough there's a bunch of smaller ones ready to be set up, along with the permanent beach huts if tents aren't your thing. The makings of hot dogs and s'mores are available by the fire pits and if you have additional dietary desires, the convenience store isn't far away!

Enjoy! ]

(( ooc: Event information HERE! Please remember that if your character does not spend the night on the beach, they'll be forced to camp out on a park bench or in a coffee shop. The apartment buildings are off limits until next dayweek. ))

Yeah. What are we expecting, this place to be normal? "Underwater prison" isn't exactly something that is common.

Exactly! With everyone coming from such different places and times and backgrounds, I guess normal weather would be too much to ask for.

Where are you from, by the way? Or when, I suppose.

Who knows? Maybe somewhere tornadoes that throw sea life at you is normal.

Earth. Two thousand-something something.

[He doesn't seem too concerned with not stating the year. Either he's being a smart-aleck... or he generally doesn't know anymore. Or both]

Earth? Really? Me too! Have you heard of Coeur d'Coeurs? It's on the West Coast of the United States of America.

No, I haven't heard of it. I'm on the East Coast. King's County. It's near Atlanta.

I know Atlanta! Never been, though. [ Never been anywhere, really. ] Most people don't know Coeur d'Coeurs. It's very small, but I like it.

I figured you might. A lot of people know where Atlanta is. Not as many know King's County. Probably the same with San Fransisco and Coeur d'Coeurs, right?

Sounds like it. Do you like living in King's County? What's it like?

Well, I don't live there anymore. It was a small city with only a few shops. It's not like Atlanta at all.

That sounds kind of nice, still. Cosy, you know? [ Like her home. ] Where did you live before you came here?

In a prison for a while. Then when the Governor attacked us and let all the walkers into the compound, we ended up on the road again.

[Did he forget to mention the zombie apocalypse? Oops]

[ Kind of missed that, yes. Also, prison? ] Prison? Walkers?

Yeah, that's where we were living. It's not like it was in use anymore.

Some other people here have called them zombies.

Zombies... [ That sounds more familiar. She's never seen one, but she's read enough books in her life to come across the undead literature. ]

What happened?

There was a virus. People started getting sick and dying. Those that died from it eventually got back up and tried to eat people.

Well, it is better than in a place where you could wind up being zombie food.

I think so. I have an apartment. It's just really hard... not wanting to watch my back all the time.

I can imagine. I mean, I can't because it's never been like that for me but I still think I can understand it a little bit.

As much as I don't want to be stuck... this place can bring about some really nice things. Like not being hunted or being able to be honest about what you are.

It doesn't seem to be very common. Most people know what zombies are, but they don't have them.

[He nods] I do like it, but it is strange.
