294 // beach mingle
[ Camping out on the beach is fun, right? Sleeping under the stars, lulled to sleep by the lapping of the waves and the rustling in the palm fronds. This isn't a refugee camp, this is a resort!

Several larger tents have been prepared on the beach. If this isn't enough there's a bunch of smaller ones ready to be set up, along with the permanent beach huts if tents aren't your thing. The makings of hot dogs and s'mores are available by the fire pits and if you have additional dietary desires, the convenience store isn't far away!

Enjoy! ]

(( ooc: Event information HERE! Please remember that if your character does not spend the night on the beach, they'll be forced to camp out on a park bench or in a coffee shop. The apartment buildings are off limits until next dayweek. ))

Beach camping certainly can be fun. I would appreciate my warm bed and a shower more, but it's not entirely unpleasant here. I don't hate the company.

[The tent is now shaped like a tent!]

What a disappointing tent. Oh well, I suppose you tried your best. [The smile says he's grateful, not annoyed, for the results.] I seem to remember you praising the showers here before. Your world really must have had some problems.

[If she knew him better, she would shove him for that. Instead, she smiles back with a roll of her eyes.] My world has quite a few problems, yes. I'm still enjoying prison life.

[Shoving would not offend him. He lives to be mildly irritating.] Well they've obviously got camping so it can't be all bad. I hear going outside is supposed to be good for you although I remain skeptical.

Well, if you call this "outside". [She looks up at the sky, which is not a sky.] But yes. It is supposed to be good for you. Fresh air, sunlight. Such that it is.

Good point. Guess this means I don't have anything to worry about. So where are you camped out? Are we tent neighbors?

Just about! Pretty close. [She points up the beach, a few spots over to a very similar tent with a small box sitting in the shade outside the flap.] There's home. Come by and ask for sugar.

Is sugar a camping thing they do on your planet?

It's a neighbor thing.

Really? Why do you give away sugar to neighbors? That seems odd.

[She laughs.] It's ... symbolic. Your neighbors can borrow from you, and you can borrow from them. It doesn't have to be sugar. It can be anything. Toilet paper, a dish, tools...

See, I would just commit petty theft.

That's not very neighborly.
