I don't need my ego massaged, unlike some. I'm assured enough about myself.

[ it's a petty blow, sure, but enough to satisfy her for the moment. she flinches backward when the blow impacts her stomach, hissing again, blood from her facial wounds running into her mouth as she scrambles to grab ahold of his arm and bite at it, hard. she'll be happy to get any part of him that she can, as long as the bite lands. ]

[He tries to yank his arm away. Unfortunately, his attempt to give her a slap in the mouth ends poorly for him.]

[Biting Caliborn is unfortunately not as effective as it should be. It hurts, and it does damage, but he neither flinches nor cries out.]

[Instead, he just slowly grins, showing his teeth grit against the pain. His cherry candy blood oozes from the wound.]

I'm more assured. Than you could ever be. [With his other hand, he grabs at her hair. Pulling hard. Pulling her closer.]

[ it's almost comical how a lighthearted beach day turned into, well, this. aradia momentarily regrets going for a bite instead of something else when she sees how little damage it does to the cherub, but she doesn't have the time to ruminate on it as much as she's being pulled closer to him. ]

I am the very antithesis of helpless.

[ that's all her response before she knees him in the stomach, aiming to stomp on it if he does go down.

the deep scratch wounds on her neck are still bleeding, and she's getting a little dizzy, but she pushes past it, operating on anger. ]

[He laughs at that, cruel and mean for knowing how absolutely wrong she is. Even if no one else can see it, Caliborn knows how truly great and terrible he will become; that is enough to boost an already-confident cherub into Massive Egoland.]

[The laugh is cut short in a breathless grunt by the stomach blow. It hurts, and he goes down, but he still grins even as the injury gets worse.]

[Not to say he's going to just lay here. He grabs at her leg and pulls, hard.]

[ when caliborn grabs at her leg she topples down, trying to angle her limbs in the split second she's falling to elbow him, maybe in the face, maybe in the chest, at least somewhere. she wants to make him stop laughing like that, and even if he's done for just a moment she can't let it happen again so her hands go for his throat.

as she leans over him, the blood from her own neck dribbles down on him, splattering darker spots on his shirt.

a little voice in the back of her head hurriedly chastises her for how useless this behavior is. but despite her personality, her exceptions, she is, after all, from a race built to do this.

she'll be ashamed later. ]
