Brooke couldn’t believe she was so close to finally being 18 years old. Okay, yes, and also she was almost done high school, but that wasn’t as important right now. She’d focus on the whole graduation and maybe a party for it after since her birthday was closer than that one. No way was she going to blow off a birthday party for herself, especially on this big of an age. If she was back home, her dad would probably be doing who knew what, but she knew it’d be simple enough to throw a party in her house. Plus it wasn’t like her father would say no after what he did since Brooke was never going to forget that. Here was a whole different story since she didn’t have her house to throw parties and not care on the amount of people who showed up.
Everything else was pretty much figured out other than the most important detail, which was venue. She knew she should probably talk to Chidi, but she’d do that at some point probably if it came down to her last resort plan. A VIP type thing at the apartment for people who Brooke liked; however, she was still holding out some hope. Though that wasn’t going to happen if she didn’t dial back her bite considering the last person she called had ended up close to tears because of Brooke and her attitude. Brooke knew she was trying to not be that person where everything was about her; however, her birthday was about her and she was going to be damned if anyone was going to ruin her day.
Needing to cool her jets and get her focus back before she bit off more heads or made more people cry, Brooke decided to leave the apartment to go get herself a coffee. Maybe some fresh air, caffeine, and a healthy walk would get her to dial back her frustration since it usually came out when she was starting to feel a bit stressed out. Reaching Starbucks, she pushed her blonde hair back before going in and up to the counter. With a more relaxed tone than she had earlier, Brooke ordered herself a Venti Iced Caramel Macchiato, paying before moving off to the side. While waiting for her order, she pulled out her phone to write up a to do list for herself since it was easier to keep track of than hoping it’d stay in her head.
