Brooke wasn’t at all broken up by the fact Hope hadn’t heard of Lakewood since she knew how this place could work. Which after that thought, she realized it was probably something she should share just so Hope didn’t think anything about it. “No, it’s fine. Like I said small town, but also the fun part of this place is not all the worlds are the same. So for all you know, you might not even have a Lakewood,” it was super weird to think about, but Brooke had learned to go with it. If she didn’t think too much about it, then all the better on her end. “Plus until recently it wasn’t anything worth writing about, but that’s a whole different story,” and one Brooke felt wasn’t worth telling. While she loved attention, she hated the attention that came from surviving what Piper had done.
School was never a problem for Brooke. Yes, she had her issues, but those were all ones she brought upon herself. People never dared trying to take her on since they knew how it would end every time. Brooke wasn’t someone who ever backed down so people knew better to cross her or her family and if they didn’t, then they always learned the hard way. “People around here have come to accept us. Yes, you’ll come across the few who are still on the fence, but it’s fine,” she told her with a smile. At the question, she shrugged slightly, “Yes, because it kills the whole doing the normal teenager thing. With going to public school, it does suck the waking up early and the teachers, don’t get me wrong. But,” she used her fingers to count off, “you can make friends, you can join stuff that might interest you, you have all the social gatherings like dances and whatnot, and once you leave the classroom, then you don’t need to deal with that teacher again until the next day or later if you have them again for something else. With home school, you see the teacher all the time!” And who wanted that? Brooke sure as hell didn’t and she knew if it wasn’t for school, then she never would have met the friends she made both back in her owl world and here. So yes, while school had some horrible parts to it, she also didn’t mind it for the other aspects.
