Lucius surveyed the crowded ballroom with smug satisfaction. Arranging for getting domestic help from Greyback's pack had been a stroke of genius, if he did say so himself. Sub-humans turned into servants. They were even better than house-elves as far as Lucius was concerned.

He took special pride in having Lupin among their number, dressed up in borrowed finery and serving champagne and hors d'oeuvres to the social elite. It was no more than the miserable animal deserved for giving Draco such low marks in Defense Against the Dark Arts.

Yes, revenge, like the finest champagne, was best served cold.
