Alex liked to keep busy most of the time. It helped her to not have to deal with her past, that was something that she really couldn't do. She wasn't ready. She didn't even know how to be normal. She hadn't in a long time. But there was nothing else to do here, there was no mission. And apparently keeping to herself was some kind of evidence that she was a serial killer. Technically she was, but that was besides the point. She never killed someone who didn't deserve it. Except Sean. And she hadn't been the one to kill Sean, she hadn't pulled the trigger but his death was her fault. Lately, she'd been talking to a lot more people, and she was even going to help with a wedding. Staying busy was extremely important for the girl. A lot of people knew more about her than she would have ever wanted, but revealing some of it had been necessary. And the rest of it was how emotional she could be. Sometimes it was a wonder that Alex could even get out of bed some days, but she did. And she was doing what she could to talk to people and get out of the house more. She liked Neal pretty well. He seemed to be a pretty good guy. And she didn't mind showing him how to bake some things. She was learning about that herself, as she went along. She hadn't had much time for baking before. And now she had all the time in the world, it seemed. Initially she'd only tried to be friendly with people so Michael and Nikita wouldn't worry about her, and to distract herself. But she was really starting to like some of the people there. And the population seemed to keep growing, so she was quick to roll out the welcome wagon to many of them now. She'd told Neal he could come over whenever so they could bake a cake. She already had the recipe and the ingredients neatly organized on the counter. She'd been back from her morning run for awhile now, so she was just listening to some rock music and reading over the recipe while she waited for him to come over. |
