Alex grabbed them each a nice cold water bottle from the fridge, setting Neal's on the counter for him. She uncapped hers and took a sip before twisting the cap back on. She drank a lot of water. "I'm pretty new at it myself." She told him. Alex didn't have time to bake when she was always on a mission. And that didn't leave time for much else at all. But that had been her life then. Here she was trying to adapt, to attempt being as close to normal as she could.
"But you didn't replace the sugar with salt or anything, so you'll probably be fine. And if not, I have more ingredients and we can start over." Alex added, with a smile. She wouldn't mind, and she could even find a simpler recipe if needed, but she didn't think it'd be necessary. Everything he had now should turn out alright. She'd already pre-greased the pan before he got there, so he wouldn't have to worry about that either.
"It's alright." She assured him. She didn't mind hearing about it, if it was something he needed to talk about. She'd shared a good deal about hers as well. But a subject change would be welcome too. This place was strange, bringing all sorts of people together that might not have even spoken before. It was interesting.
