Budding Interest [when the Nine Worlds were new](tag:Frigg)
Odin's inspection of the new worlds had pleased him greatly. He'd taken a trip around them all, wanting to see if what he and his brothers had created was meeting their expectations. It was all they wanted and more. They had enemies, it was true, as he'd discovered when he traveled a few of them, but overall they were amazing. The mortals were thriving, and already his progeny were showing great promise. Which was part of what brought him back to his wife's home.
His mortal offspring were all well and good, infants that they were, and it pleased him to know they would become great kings and heroes if they continued down the right path. Yet it would be his divine children that would mean the most to the future of those worlds- Asgard and Midgard in particular. The mortals could only do so much, and Odin's concern for the future weighed heavily on his mind at times.
He had been slowly formulating a plan to gain what knowledge he could about what that future would bring. Already he knew a trip to Mimir's well would be in order, as well as there being something about Yggdrasil. It was drawing him, but as yet he didn't know why. Soon. He knew it would be soon, but to the young ruler, time had a strange way of bending. Soon could mean tomorrow, or next year, or well into the future, depending on so many variables it sometimes made his head spin. But other things needed to be attended to first.
While it was his wife's hall, Odin did not feel as if it was his home as well. The marriage had been viewed by him as strategical and necessary bonding between Jord and himself to help solidify his position. When one mated with the Earth, few could argue his right to rule. Out of that union, a great son had been born.
The king had spent the better part of the afternoon playing with young Thor. Games his mother would probably question considering the youngster's age. Odin, on the other hand, believed it was never too early to begin to develop the skills young Thor would need as he grew. Strong he was, so strong even Odin was amazed by it. This eldest son would prove to be mighty indeed.
There was another reason Odin had come to Jord's home. Another son. It was the first time Odin had brought one of his many scattered sons to dwell here. This one, like Thor, was going to be special, he could already tell. Tyr was so very young, yet there was an odd wisdom in his eyes already that his father could not ignore. And while he was sure Jord wanted to object, he had explained how much he felt her influence would benefit the toddler, and it was agreed he would reside in her home.
That taken care of, and Jord off getting Tyr settled, Odin took the time to relax before the fire. Realizing he was thirsty, he called out for mead. He didn't address any handmaiden in particular- Jord had many and any one of them would do, so long as they kept his cup filled.
