Jaime was having trouble coping with ... everything. The new people, the attention being drawn to what she was, the person who'd actually asked her if he could see her marks. That had just bothered her, but he was ... just a kid, and she tried not to read too much into it. While she was sure she wasn't the only weather mage in the world, she was definitely the best-known one in the area. She was terrified of the idea of teaching, though that was more an accumulation of horrible what-if scenarios she'd wound for herself in her head. She was probably her own issue right now, but even knowing that, she couldn't climb herself over it. She'd been tutored, sure, and she knew how each of her elements worked (and she had some vague ideas of how to make them work together), but she'd never actually taught other people. She was afraid she was going to be horrible at it and scar some poor children for life. Jaime also thought that her size was going to work against her. When there were occasionally thirteen year old boys that were taller than her, she could see how that could become an issue in regard to gaining the respect of a classroom full of students. Then again, she didn't know how many students she should be expecting, either. She guessed she'd find out next week, depending on what elements were covered and whatever. In her course of avoiding the general population, Jaime had wound her way up to one of the cliffs overlooking the water. She could feel the wind up here, stronger than it was lower and further inland. Not a lot of people knew this as her retreat, but enough did that she wouldn't be surprised if one of them found her. She supposed part of her wanted to be found, and she was just curious who it would be. |
