Jaime didn't want to answer his question, because she really didn't have an answer. Because she'd never done it before, but everyone had to start somewhere. Because she didn't know what she was doing, which wasn't completely true. She could manage all her elements separately, and unless they actually had a younger weather mage show up, which was probably really not that likely, she really didn't have anything to worry about.
She had half a mind to tell him to shut up and go away, but that wouldn't help anything. And it was rude, and she was trying not to estrange people. Avoid them, sure, but estrange them, not so much. She was going to need support to get through this, and pissing people off never won any friends.
"I don't know," she finally admitted. "I just ... I mean, what if I really do make a complete mess of it and say or do something that leads to a giant disaster, and don't say it can't happen. I mean, maybe I'll say something I think is totally innocuous and some student will take it as a challenge and the next thing you know everything's going to be on fire and we'll all be dead."
