There was nothing she could argue with, which was frustrating since arguing was her primary defense. And she couldn't tell him not to say things, which was also a handy distraction technique. Clearly he was going to be a good teacher, but he'd sure as hell shut her up.
She'd also heard stories of things during the necromancer's time, but she'd also accepted she would never completely understand it. Not really. She hadn't lived in a time with that kind of fear, and the most she'd ever truly had to deal with were some looks and maybe a muttered word or two.
"Well, I can't say," Jaime replied. What if she had been the king when that had happened? It wasn't exactly like you could stop another person's element, and she didn't think necromancy was any different. Which made her wonder what would happen if two same-element mages got into an actual fight.
"Have you ever ..." she gestured with one hand. "Had a fight with another earth mage? Like a real fight? How do you win if you can both control the same element?" It was a tangent, she knew, but if she couldn't win with arguing and couldn't preemptively tell him not to say things, she'd just distract him with legitimate questions.
