Who: Nora and Kaylee Ramsey What: Birthday plans and Wedding gifts Where: Ramsey house When: Friday, June 10th
Kaylee loved her workshop area about better than anywhere in the world. It was just a cleaned out corner of the storage area over the garage, but she could blast her music as loud as she wanted. There was also an old matress she had salvaged over in a corner of the area and covered with old sheets and pillows. Last winter it had proven to be an excellent place to hide out when she was trying to keep her parents from realizing she was sick. There was a project to do and if she didn't take charge then they were just going to settle for mediocrity. The last thing she could have on her record with only half of high school almost over was a C on a group project over a little bit of flu. She went up there with a hot plate and had pretty much steamed it out and drank more hot water and lemon juice than she could remember. Now it was just nice to relax between cutting, sanding and washing pieces. Then she didn't think anything of it. Here lately it had been feeling a little stuffier than usual. That was just to be expected with the warmer weather which was likely to make her tired as well as the expected PMS. She had been drinking more water to avoid dehydration which likely wasn't the best idea considering the bathroom required going back to the house. At least she could keep it plenty cold without a refrigerator.
She'd mentioned on her last bathroom break that her mom could come whenever to check out the wedding gift. Partly because she was already thinking of something similiar for her parents next wedding anniversary. Then when Kaylee had started it she was half expecting to still be working out the kinks for the rest of the summer but it had turned out beautifully in her opinion. Then if she kept up this much business she was going to have to think of some cutesy name to attatch to the pieces. Sapphire Suncatchers perhaps considering where most of her good stuff was hanging. She was keeping a good bit ahead of schedule as well considering she had a piece of bright yellow glass on the grinder for a birthday gift still a little over a month and a half away. Her foot was tapping along with the appropriate mood music that was playing. She was almost sure that the recipient would have yelled at her for ever bastardizing such perfect music with that beat. Then she likely had the original somewhere on her iPod too. The thing was almost full with almost every genre of music. Though her showtune collection was expected to be impressive. If she hadn't been listening for the stairs, she probably would have missed the familiar footsteps of her mom and just turned it down a bit without pausing what she was doing until it was done with the larger piece. Now how the heck to get the holes in there...
