"It's all right, honey," Nora said as she entered the room. It wasn't really a room that she visited often, not even one she tended to clean as much as the rest of the house. She figured that Kaylee liked it that way better. It was like her second bedroom type of thing, so Nora left it to her for her privacy. Heck, Nora had been a teenager once, and she remembered what it was like to want privacy from her parents. Who was she to deny her daughter the space she deserved? Of course, she always figured Kaylee or Lucy would come to her if they really needed her for anything.
Setting down the cups, Nora turned and smiled at this "Kaylee Ramsey original" she was talking about. Once it was all setup and ready, Nora's jaw practically hit the floor. It was absolutely breathtaking, and for the first time in a long time, Nora, who had words for just about everything, was speechless. She went closer to get a better look, knowing enough about art to keep her hands behind her back so as to not ruin the piece. And once she was done admiring it, she reached over to pull Kaylee closer to her, draping an arm around her shoulder and kissing the top of her head.
"It's by far the most beautiful thing I have ever seen, Kaylee. I love it."
