WHEN: Saturday the 22nd, Evening
RATING: PG
STATUS: Incomplete
It had been a week since Christine had brought up Seth's lack of coming to visit to him. He'd suggested that they have dinner together, and she'd been all for it. But when the weekend had actually come, she'd gotten a rain-check instead of a night with her best friend. Had she been expecting it? Yes. At least a bit. Had she been hoping for it? No, of course not. But Christine couldn't really fault him for being who he was. Seth chased skirts. She knew that. Had known that since high school. So when she'd gotten the text saying that he couldn't come, she'd just taken it in stride and had done what she usually did on weekends. Spend some quality time with her piano and her cello. When she wasn't solving work problems for her boss, that was.
The week had gone by after that, and Seth had suggested again that they have dinner. This time he'd promised to actually be there, so Christine had said yes. But she'd also reserved the right to withhold the cookies that she'd made earlier in the day. Chocolate chip and peanut butter. She had to admit that it was nice to bake and not have to worry about a bunch of greedy fingers poking into the bowl for a taste of the dough. Though, she couldn't help but miss having all of her siblings around all the time. Not that they didn't come by to see her anyway.
Christine had been baking for most of the afternoon, and had wound up with more cookies than she'd really meant to make. but it wasn't like keeping them around wouldn't come in handy when she had people over. And once the early evening had rolled around, she'd found herself at the piano, just playing a few things and waiting for Seth to get there. And hopefully her phone would sound with a raincheck through text again.
